Weekend Rundown - Happy Mother's Day!

Happy Monday y'all!  How was your weekend?  Did you celebrate your Mom or "Mom-like" person together or from afar?  Either way, I hope you had a great weekend!

Ours was busy, as usual.  But you know, I wouldn't have it any other way!

Saturday morning Matt & I got up (later than we planned) & headed off to the gym!  I got in a great workout but, had to cut my cardio short because my knee was giving me issues.  Chatted with one of the trainers & He gave me some tips on how to strengthen it.  I was relieved because at this point, I don't want to be held back because of a knee injury!!
After we left the gym & got freshened up at home, we headed West to Graham.
That day we went to a benefit skeet shoot for one of Matt's high school classmates - she was diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer just a few months ago!  (Prayers for the Gilmore family would be much appreciated!)  It was a great turn out though & they raised soooo much money!  It was really a great day for a great cause!

On Sunday Matt & I went to church with his parents & then out for Mother's Day lunch after.
It's always nice to get back to Graham & spend time with them.

After lunch we were off to Azle to visit my little brother & to see his new bachelor pad!  Then, we all went out to the cemetery for a visit.  As most of you know, my Mom is passed [you can read more about her here] so we ran by the store to pick up flowers.  Since both of my grandmother's are passed as well, I picked up arrangements for them too.
I've never believed that any of them are at the cemetery but, there is a certain kind of calm that I feel when I'm out there.  I like to think that it's each one of them, there with me & giving me just what I need to let me know that everything is going to be ok.

My Mom's

My Mimi's (Mom's mom)

My Granny's (Dad's mom)

They were all three such influential women in my life.  I look back & thank God that I had such strong, smart, loving women to bring me up in this world.  I am blessed beyond measure to have had them in my life.

My Mother kept a garden,
a garden of the heart,
She planted all the good things
that gave my life it's start.
She turned me to the sunshine
and encouraged me to dream,
Fostering and nurturing
the seeds of self-esteem...
And when the winds and rain came,
she protected me enough-
But not too much because she knew
I'd need to stand up strong and tough.
Her constant good example
always taught me right from wrong-
Markers for my pathway
that will last a lifetime long.
I am my Mother's garden.
I am her legacy-
And I hope today she feels the love
reflected back from me.

After we left the cemetery we headed home & picked up d-lish Chipotle for dinner & vegged out for the rest of the evening!  All in all it was a fantastic weekend!

Hope everyone has a great week!
