Meet Hilary...

Hi Y'all! I'm Hilary from Diaries of Do'ers! Shayna left me with the awesome privilege of gracing you guys with my presence while she's enjoying the sun and sand this week and we are left daydreaming about it. Shayna and I 'met' through the Glitz & Glam Xmas Swap in December of last year and have been in contact ever since. I swear that we will meet in person one day soon. She's the sweetest thing - so I can't wait!!

This past weekend [and the weekend before], I was able to hang with my BFF from childhood who lives back where we grew up. Living away from the same people who surrounded you for the first 18 years of your life really allows you to weed out the ones who really don't matter, and bond stronger with those that matter most. As bitchy as that sounds, for me at least, it's the truth... you find out who your friends are [key the country music].

She actually sent me a link to a 'letter' found on this inspirational site a few weeks ago and we went back and forth highlighting a few points that are so fitting for our friendship.

It's very crazy to meet people [like Shayna!] through the blogosphere [yes, hubs thinks I'm crazy and jokes about how I must have met a new boyfriend online - he just doesn't get it] ...But I know there are lots of you who, because of blogging, have developed friendships that will last a lifetime. And that's the coolest thing - old or new, near or far, there are just certain things that encompass 'true friendship'.

So I had to share these... if you have someone like this in your life, pass the letter on - it will make them smile :)
  • Thank you for always being closest to me even when we were in separate time zones and separate stages of life. Thank you for not letting us get split by dumb facts like distance or time. Thank you for never giving up on our friendship, for never shrugging and being like “Eh, things change, people change”
  •  Everyone has those friends who are close but not really; who you always feel kind of awkward and weird about asking for help and like you have to clarify you’ll do them some kind of favor in return, but you’re not one of those
  •  You never got mad when I didn’t call you for weeks on end because I was too busy being someone’s girlfriend, but you were right there to pick up my heart-splinters when things predictably shattered. You were and are there for everything, no bargaining or explanations needed.
  • Thank you for not judging me when I did something really stupid, but also thanks for telling me I was an idiot and probably shouldn’t have done the stupid thing.
Letters from grade school

Aww!  So sweet!  Thanks Mrs. Hilary for stopping by today!  Y'all be sure to pay Hilary a visit, you'll love her as much as I do!
