The Dress Debate

Happy Friday friends!  Hope y'all are having a good one so far!

Thank you all so so SO much for your encouraging words yesterday!  That means so much to me & I really appreciate it!  Y'all sure do know how to motivate a girl!!!  I'll be sure to give y'all an update next Thursday - even if I have a slip up or two!

You know what's cute?

This baby licking a Ring Pop!
Isn't he just the cutest!?

He kept wanting to bite into it so that's the reason for the crazy eyes in the last one!

As most of you know, tomorrow is THE day.  I'm going wedding dress shopping!
(If you're new around here... I'm going wedding dress shopping tomorrow)  :)

I've always known that I'm a traditional person.
Ex. Stockings are the LAST thing that is opened on Christmas morning.
Birthdays are always celebrated, No Matter What!

I could go on forever but, I'll spare you.  However, planning our wedding the last couple of months has made me realize even more just how traditional I truly am.  Even though Matt & I live together (judge away) I've come to find that I want a lot of things the way a "traditional" wedding would be done.

But there's this ooonnnne thing I've gone back & forth on....

Do I show Matt my wedding dress before OR keep it a secret until I walk down the isle?

You see, Matt & I share pretty much everything & have a very open relationship.  He's my go-to guy for all honest opinions... even with my outfits, when I ask!

So, what's so different about this "outfit" of a wedding dress that I'll be wearing?

I want him to love it & think I look beautiful in it.
(& No I'm not fishing for the "Oh you'll look gorgeous & of course he'll love it" comments)

After going back & forth over this for a little bit, I decided that Matt would be the one to make the ultimate decision.  So, I asked him what he wanted.

Does he want to see the dress before or be completely surprised the day of our wedding?

He said he wants to be completely surprised on our wedding day!

Of course he would! HA!

So, no more debate & no more tossing & turning over trying to figure out what to do!
I'm just hoping that I find the one & never have a second thought about it!
(Or need/want Matt's opinion on it!)

So, how about y'all... Did you or would you show your dress to your groom before the walk down the isle?

Was this even a question for you?

Are you a traditional or non-traditional person?

I'll be back Tuesday with a full re-cap of wedding dress shopping!

Hope y'all have a great Labor Day Weekend!

Inspire Me: Healthy!

Hey ladies!

Checking in for my second week of Inspire Me: Healthy.
A Mommas Desires And Pacifiers
Linking-up at Raven's place today.

Let me just say that I am in desperate need of some INSPIRATION right now.

I haven't been eating horribly but, not the best either.

Matt & I went to jog/walk Monday night & completed 2.5 miles.  THAT felt good & like I had accomplished something.

Other than that, I haven't gone up or forward at all.
Not really sure what my problem is other than I have no motivation.

I've set myself a goal date: October 5th.
My goal weight: 125
Current weight: 132ish

This is the day before our friends wedding & 6 days before our engagement pictures.

I think that if I have a goal, it gives me a purpose & something to work towards.  With having set goals, a set date & set ways of how I want to get there.... this should be doable.

It is doable!  I can & I will!
36 days y'all... 36 days!

To transform this body...
Dear Lord... I can't believe I just showed y'all this!!!
& I'm going wedding dress shopping this weekend!  Idiot.

However, this just means that I HAVE TO come back with some results next week!
How embarrassing would that be if I didn't!?

(If shaming myself is what gets the weight off, then I will shame myself into a TWIG!)

***Side note: I got up at 5:15 AM this morning & did a quick 15 min. toning workout!  THIS has NEVER happened before!
I have to be honest in saying that I'm pretty proud of myself!  Was I dripping sweat & killing over by the end of it? No.  But, I did get up & get my blood flowing & I've been on a high all morning long!  This WILL be happening more from here on out!

What do you do to stay inspired & motivated?

Wish me luck!

Oh How Pinteresting... Projects!

Oh my goodness gracious y'all... we've made it to Wednesday!  Thank the Lord!

Since it's Wednesday, y'all know what that means here...
Go link-up... You know you wanna!

I've decided to change things up a little though today.  Instead of showing you all the funny, dreamy or inspiring pins that I've pinned here recently, I want to show you some of my Pinterest projects!

These are all very simple projects.  Each requires these things:
Picture Frames

Pretty simple huh?  That's the way I like it!

My first two projects I found via the eighteen25 blog.  These three ladies sister are so talented & seem like they have so much fun doing what they do!  Go check them out if you haven't already, they have a ton of great stuff on their blog!

This first project I showed y'all back in January for Valentine's Day

Call me crazy but, this is still up in my house.  I guess that's because it's also our anniversary?  I don't know.  Maybe I am crazy because I just took down our Christmas cards 2 weeks ago.  Yes, you read that right.

It fit in perfectly with the rest of my decorations & was a fun addition to my living room!
You can find the printable here.

My most recent Pinterest project is this one

My heart melted when I read this saying.  It's so sweet & so very true for me.
It's current home is in our bedroom on one of the bedside tables.  The colors are so bright & fresh & it gives the side table just the right pop!

Find this printable here along with several other color options!

After browsing through eighteen25, I hit the printable JACKPOT!

Y'all, they seriously have a printable for every occasion!  I can't wait for Fall, Halloween, Christmas & upcoming birthdays... I'm going to have the cutest printables around!!!  :)

My next project is one that I will be completing within the next day or so.  For a while now, I've thought that our bathroom needed a little change up & I think I found just that!
bathroom printables

I'm going to Hobby Lobby today to pick up the right size frames (at 50% off of course!) & then will finish out the project.  Don't worry, I'll show y'all how it turns out when I'm done!

You can find all four of the printables here + much much more!

So, what Pinterest projects have you done lately?

Let me know because I want to see them!  Might give me or someone else just the right pinspiration they need to finish off a room or project!

If you're on Pinterest you can follow me here... & let me know what your user name is so I can follow you!

Birthdays, Guns & Shopping... Our Weekend!

Hey y'all!  Happy Monday Tuesday!

Do you ever wake up in the morning in one of those blah moods?  Nothing to be overly happy about but, nothing to be really mad about, just more Negative Nancy than Positive Polly?  Well, that was me yesterday & I didn't feel like subjecting y'all to my bad mood.

Moving right along.  This weekend.  Well, it was a great one!
Friday = Friends!
Saturday = Friends!
Sunday = Church & Family!

Friday night we celebrated our friend Roland's birthday.  We ate dinner at Love & War in Texas & moved to a bar on Main St in Grapevine after!  The guys played pool all night while us girls had dance party & people watched from the balcony above the dance floor!  Oh, it was some goood people watching!
1. Birthday dessert, it was amazing!
2. Texas food.  Enough said.
3. Texas shaped corn bread!?  Loved it!

Shirt - Marshall's, Skinny Jeans - Marshall's, Watch - Betsy Johnson

We didn't get home until about... err, 2:30am-ish Friday night.

Which meant that we woke up Saturday about 11am-ish.

& Since we slept so late on Saturday I didn't get to shopping like I wanted to last week.  BUT, a quick stop into Marshall's on Friday before we went out made up for it.  So, all is well!
The Limited Pants $12 & both shirts $12 each!  + the blue shirt from Friday nigth for $12!  SCORE!!!

Saturday afternoon we went to shoot skeet out at our friends family ranch & had an evening of grilling out!  A relaxing night with more friends was just what I needed!

Have you been shopping lately?

Are you a bargain shopper or grab whatever you like, no matter the price?

I'm a bargain shopper but, no judgement here if you aren't.  :)

Hope y'all have a great day!!!

Inspire Me: Healthy!

Hey y'all! Happy freakin Thursday!

I've been so busy this week but, in a good way.  I've been getting dinner cooked at home, wedding stuff checked off of our list, workouts in (mostly) & even made it to a meeting 30 minutes early!

Who am I!?

Just kidding... I've made it a point to get all of this done!  (Except the meeting thing... that was a mis-type in my planner so we ended up being early! HA!)

Anyways, today I'm linking up with Kristen & Raven for Inspire Me: Healthy to talk about my "health journey", if you want to call it that.
A Mommas Desires And Pacifiers

I talked Monday about my daily & weekly plan to get back on track with my weight loss & fitness.  Today I want to talk about my goals.  I'm a believer in goals & that if you know you want something bad enough, you'll work as hard as you need to to get there.

I've talked about my weight loss & fitness journey here before.  I've tried multiple different things to keep myself on track & it seems no matter what, every few months I fall off track!  It's very frustrating.  So, I'm trying to figure out what works best for me in my life & my schedule.

So, here's my goals...

#1  Track my meals via My Fitness Pal, daily.  This is something fairly easy & I can take it with my anywhere I go since I have the app on my phone.  & FYI it's a FREE app for anyone else looking!

#2  Cardio - get cardio in 4-5 times a week.  Whether it's on the machines at the gym, spin class, riding bikes or running outside... I just need to get my heart pumping!

#3  Toning work outs - 4-5 times a week.  Y'all have heard me mention Tone It Up here before & I semi participated in their Summer 2012 Bikini Challenge this year - I'll admit, I fell off the wagon & lost motivation.  However, they have some GREAT toning workouts!  This month I finally printed off their calendar & it's on the front of my "wedding binder" so I see it everyday & always know what workouts are coming up!  I also have one saved to my desk top at work so if I don't have my binder, it's a quick click & I will know what the workouts for the day are.  I then either do them at home or at the gym before cardio.

#4  Eat smart.  This is pretty self explanatory & where meal planning comes in!  I'm not going to kill myself if I slip up or have a sweet tooth craving.  I'll simply handle the bump in the road & get back on track with the next meal.  Same thing I did yesterday after having McDonald's for lunch.  I could barely get it all down & then having to put it in My Fitness Pal - ugh!  Horribly depressing!  I won't be wasting that many calories again anytime soon!

I think these are all very simple & attainable long term goals.  Eventually, they won't have to be goals but, just a way of life & that's the ULTIMATE goal for me!

I think next week I'll be brave & share some before pics!  Maybe.

Be healthy

It's true!!!

So, have you been on a fitness & health journey?

What are your goals to get fit & healthy?

Go link up at Raven's place and/or read everyone else's post if you are needing a little inspiration!  There are so many amazing ladies out there!

Where does the time go??

Here lately, I've been thinking a lot.  Sometimes this is good & sometimes this is bad but, most of the time it's good.  Recently, I've been thinking & reflecting back over my almost 26 25 years of life & wondering... "How did I get here so quickly?  Where did all those years go?"  I think it's safe to say we all do this, yes?

No matter what happens in our lives, good or bad, it seems like sometimes life is just passing us by so quickly!

It makes me think...

Wasn't it just yesterday that I was taking my brand new baby brother to Kindergarten for Show & Tell? (This is true.  What was my Mom thinking!?)
HOW  is he about to be 20 years old!?!?

Wasn't it just yesterday that I was graduating high school, living the high life in the dorms & having the best time of my life?  Those memories seem like they were made just yesterday yet, it's creeping closer to 8 years now!

Wasn't it just yesterday that I had the most awkward first date of my life & now we're engaged!?  3 1/2 years later... They have been some of the best years of my life but, my have they gone by quickly!

I guess the saying is true... "Time flies when you're having fun!"

I look back on my life & think of all the good times, bad times & everything in between.  I think it's safe to say that I've done a pretty good job at soaking it all up & remembering it all!  It still just blows my mind how fast time flies & especially the older I get!

Life is

Do you ever look back & wonder where the time went?
& How did it all go by so fast?

I know I sure do... Obviously!  :)

Menu Monday!

2 post in 1 day!?  I didn't want to try & cram everything into 1, like I do at times so, as promised last week Menu Monday is back!

I have to admit, I didn't make it to the grocery store yesterday & barely had time to whip these recipe ideas together.  So, looks like I'll be grocery shopping tonight seeing as how we have a busy week ahead, what's new!?

Monday - Grilled Pork Chops, Golden Mashed Potatoes, Cooked Carrots

Tuesday - Ultimate Chicken Fajitas - we have a meeting with at the church so this is a quick & easy recipe to whip together & rush out the door!

Wednesday - Quinoa Stuffed Bell Peppers - this was on the Menu for last week & we never got around to making it due to me not realizing how much time you need for baking them.  Oops!

Thursday - Breakfast for dinner - probably egg white omelets or something along those lines.

Friday - We'll be out for a birthday dinner for a friend!

I've been wanting to link-up with Kristen & Raven for the past few weeks for their Inspire Me: Healthy series on Thursdays but, have yet to do it.  I guess that's because I have yet to make a serious commitment to getting fit & healthy... again!

So, as I mentioned earlier I am going back to calorie counting with the help of My Fitness Pal app (thanks Callie!), I'll be drinking 2 large glasses of water during the day at work & at least 1 each evening.  By making my meal plan each week, this will ensure that Matt & I both have left overs & will then take them for lunch the next day.  Healthy dinner = healthy lunch the next day!

I also plan on getting in cardio time & toning workouts 4-5 days each week!  I know I can do it because I've done it before, so there's no excuses here!

I won't be blogging about my eating & workouts everyday but, I'm hoping it's a way I can truly keep myself accountable & by linking-up on Thursdays, it's good motivation!

Have y'all linked-up with Kristen & Raven yet?

Do you think making a meal plan helps you stay organized & on task for the week?

Let me know what y'all think & what y'all are doing to stay fit & healthy!  I'd love some more motivation!  :)

Winner Winner Chicken Dinner!

Hey y'all!  & Hello Monday!

We're getting back to the grind  after spending the weekend with Matt's parents.  I got to relax & work on craft projects while Matt & his Dad replaced windows on the house!  FUN huh!?

Luckily, they finished the job just in time because some big storms came in!  We thought we were in the clear when we went to run some errands in town & here it came again!  Of course, being the good blogger I am, I got some good shots!

Storm clouds rolling in.  Less than 5 minutes later.  No filters.

We caught a full rainbow on the way back home!  It was so pretty!

NOW, on to the real reason I'm here today!

First, thank you to all of y'all who entered my 100 Follower Giveaway!  This being my first one, I thought it was pretty fun & successful!

Friday's Letters

Happy Friday y'all!  Can I get a "TGIF"!?

It's been a bit of a crazy week around these parts but, nothing too much a girl on the go can't handle!

Today, I'm linking up with Ashley @ Adventures of Newlyweds for,

Dear Friday, It's about time you came around again!  It's been a long 2 weeks at work & I am more than glad to see you here!

Dear new data system at work, We were told you were pretty much supposed to be the new & improved, top of the line type system.  However, you are not.  You are very difficult to figure out & we haven't exactly gotten off to the best start.  Let's hope this improves, otherwise work will suck from here on out.

Dear bank account, Please grow bigger on your own.  Thanks.

Dear body, Why oh why do you have to be the way you are?  The amount of effort & work I have to put forth to make you look descent in your birthday suit or swim suit is sometimes tiring & I wonder if it's really worth it.  (I know it is, I just wish the results didn't take as long to "see").

Dear Pinterest projects, I'm hoping to complete 2 this weekend while visiting the future in-laws.  I'm excited to finally finish you & check those projects off of my want/to-do list!

Dear Aunt Cindi & Aunt Vicki, I am so so SOOO excited for you two to be HERE in 2 weeks from today!  I can't imagine trying to go wedding dress shopping without the two of you!  I am so lucky & so blessed to have the both of you in my life & cannot wait to share this special time in my life with y'all!

Dear September 1, I'm ready to go wedding dress shopping!  Bring on the wedding fun!!!

Dear Fiance, I love you to the moon & back.  Thank you for always loving me the way you do!  260 days to go!!!  :)

What are you ladies up to this weekend!?

We'll be going west to Graham to visit Matt's parents & hopefully relax a little bit!

Don't forget... I'm hosting my 100 Followers Giveaway & you don't want to miss it!!!  It will close Sunday evening & I'll be announcing the winner on Monday!!!  Good luck y'all!

Oh How Pinteresting... Fall Wishes

Hey y'all!  Happy Hump Day!

I don't know about y'all but this girl is SOOO ready for Fall time!  I don't really know what it is or why but, I am!  The other day Matt & I were out shopping & smelt these "Fall scents" - you know the ones I'm talking about.  I literally had to stop & take them in for a second; my heart fluttered!

Don't get me wrong here, I LOVE Summer time... boats, bikinis, river trips, the lake, tan lines, etc. I love it all.  For some reason this year I just have an overwhelming readiness for Fall though.

Since I live in Texas & it won't be Fall here until, oh, maybe mid-November-ish I'll take my hopes & dreams to Pinterest & can at least start planning how I'm going to decorate this year!  & by start planning I mean, I'll be decorating in the next few weeks!

Linking up with Michelle @ The Vintage Apple for...

We don't have a very big front porch area but, I want to create a sort of "pumpkin patch" feel this year

Things I've Learned Since Being Engaged!

Hey lovelies!  How goes it today?  I survived Monday so that's always a plus!

Currently, I'm watching Matt & Bingham play fetch around the house while flipping back & forth between the Rangers/Yankees game & Cowboys/Raiders game.  & we ate dinner by 7 pm!  Big ups for us!!!

As of August 7th, Matt & I have been engaged for 2 months!  This time in our lives always seemed so far off for some reason & now that it's here, I want to soak up every bit of it that I can!  Since we've been engaged, I've learned a few things about wedding planning that I didn't know before.  & don't we all think that we know it all already?

I know I did.  I thought I knew exactly how I wanted my decorations, the exact chairs, colors, etc., etc.

Although I had a good idea of everything that I wanted before we got engaged, there are so many small things you just don't think about.  So, without rambling too much more, here's what I've learned over the first 2 months of our engagement:

- If you are planning your wedding on your own, sans wedding planner as I am, you become an overnight event planner.  It's not necessarily a bad thing but, I have a new appreciation for event planners for sure!

- It's important to include your fiance in everything, as long as they want to be.  Matthew has been such a huge help in doing so many things already & it's made a huge difference!

- Know from the get-go that you will not be able to please everyone.  This is YOUR wedding & no one else's so, do what make you & your future spouse happy!

- With that, know that you will also get unsolicited suggestions & ideas from people - family, friends, whoever - know that even if it's not in line with your "theme" or something you would necessarily want, it's all coming from a good & loving place.  Everyone just wants you to be happy.

- Don't expect to get answers as soon as you call a vendor, church coordinator, etc.  & get good at leaving voicemails.  I can't tell you how many phone calls I've made & yes, I've gotten some answers right away but, a lot I've had to leave voicemails for & of course they call right when I get back from my lunch break!  Never fails!  HAHA!

- Make a budget & do everything in your power to stick as closely to it as possible!  (This is another area Matt has been a HUGE help!)  Check out The Knot for help making your wedding budget & check list.
Wedding Checklist via The Knot

- After making your budget, start doing your homework for the "big ticket items" like, wedding venue & reception venue, caterers, DJ's, Photographers, etc.  Don't be afraid to let people know that "you're just calling for a price quote & will get back with them if you would like to move forward".  Doing your homework will ensure that you stay on budget too!  Go with whomever you feel most comfortable with & offers an overall reasonable price.

Here's a few sites that we've found super helpful just in the last couple of months & will continue to use them over the next 9 montsh!

Most of all, HAVE FUN!!!  Remember that the only reason you're going through all of this is to walk back down that isle with the one you love!  After that, nothing else matters!

Hope this helps some of you newer brides-to-be!

Friday night Matt & I attended a wedding of a long time friend that I've known since Jr. High.  How is it possible we're even old enough to be getting married already!?  Time flies way too fast these days!
It was a beautiful ceremony & quite funny too... the "minister" was a friend of theirs who was ordained via the WWW!  He was quite the character!
Our first wedding as a future Mr. & Mrs.!

Oh How Pinteresting... Wedding Wednesday!

Hey y'all!  Happy Hump Day!
Not gonna lie... I thought yesterday was never going to end!  We're switching to a new data system at work therefore, our old system was down & the new system was not yet up & working... makes for one looong day!

Right about 2 pm or so I got REALLY excited though!  Our photographer - who we hadn't met with yet - text me to make sure we were still on for meeting tonight?

Thought goes through my head very quickly of my last e-mail to her.... "Oh hey Paige... I didn't realize we were meeting tonight but, sure that works great!"
We didn't have a day set but, things just got turned around.  Turned around in a good way though.

We ended up meeting with our photographer Paige & the second photographer, Justin.  They were both super nice & very friendly!  Ultimately, we signed a contract & paid our deposit!

We have a wedding photographer!!!

In celebration of securing our wedding photographer, I wanted to share my favorite wedding picture pins for...

We don't normally take the paper but, I will most definitely want to remember this on our wedding day!
