Friday Mix Bag

Giggity giggity giggity it's Friday y'all!!!

& Since it's Friday I have put together the best post ever using the least amount of brain cells possible.  All the good ones have been used up by this point so, y'all get the left overs today.  :)

First order of business...

I have no words.  Oh wait, yes I do... Are you serious!?!?  Can we say fertile much??
I can't imagine having babies this close together.  I know tons of people do but, I think I would be so scared!
(Watch, this is going to happen to me! HA!)

Secondly....

Uhhmmmm, Mother Nature!  Do you not realize that it's December 1st tomorrow???
This is what burned my eye balls when I checked the weather this morning!

"Welcome to Texas where we have one season, Hot!"

& This is what I have to say about that to Mother Nature...
Si cracks me up! Duck Dynasty

I WILL be putting up Christmas decorations this weekend & I WILL pretend it's cold outside, homie.

Have you put Christmas decorations up yet?

Please tell me it's just as hot where you are so I don't feel as bad!?

I hope everyone has a great weekend!!!

XOXO,

Saw It. Pinned It. Wore It.

Hey y'all!  Who else is doing the happy dance because we're this close to it being Friday??

I took sick day because Matt & I had a hot date at the dentist office, again.

I love my teeth feelin' so fresh & so clean clean!  Buuuuut... I hate my mouth being numb & looking like a chip munk - or not being able to talk right or eat or drink.  Especially not eating or drinking!

Anyways, enough about my trip to the dentist I'm linking-up with Steph & Katie for
Saw it. Pinned it. Did it.

We all take to Pinterest for many, many things.  One of the things I love about Pinterest are the in-style outfit ideas that I get!  I can put a cute outfit together & all but, I am definitely not a fashion-ista.  Never have been & probably never will be.

With Fall upon us, or sort of if you live in Texas, I've been trying to put together some of my best outfits.  I like a cute outfit but, I LOVE it even more if it's a comfortable one!

Insert this gem of an ensemble:
cute fall outfit

& Here's my version:
Jean Shirt (old) - Maurices
Leggings - Old Navy
Under Tank - Target
Boots - Marshalls
Jewelry - multiple boutiques

I've worn this outfit a few times.  It's perfect for running errands, meeting for lunch or just a casual occasion!

What outfits have you put together that are inspired by Pinterest?

Thanksgiving & Life {Updates}

Hey y'all!  It's been a hot second!

I hope that everyone had a great Thanksgiving!  We were traveling 6 hrs South to Corpus Christi on Thanksgiving day & I must say I was a weee bit jealous seeing everyone's Instagram, FB & Twitter pics of their plates FULL of Thanksgiving goodness!  However, we got to celebrate with my family on Friday and all was right in the world!

I honestly didn't take many pictures but, the ones I did take came out greeaaattttt!
Sadly enough I can't even blame it on the alcohol... I had only had 1 or 2 drinks by this point!
Oh well... I'll try again next year!  :)

Since we had a 6 hour car ride to fill time... I addressed all of our Christmas cards!
Booyah!!!

I'll give y'all a better look at them once I've actually sent them out.

I did snap a pretty cool pic (or so I think so) on our way to Corpus.  We were out on a back country road... cruisin' along & the sun was going down.
#nofilter

In other news... I ordered my wedding garter yesterday!  Ladies, if your looking for a sexy vintage one, visit Lucy Bridal Boutique.  She has several garters along with head pieces & other wedding day accessories!

We also got our Save the Dates printed out over the Thanksgiving break... now it's time to address those bad boys & get them in the mail!  Woo Hoo!!!

We're officially 157 days away from becoming Mr. & Mrs.!!!

Hopefully everyone is easing back into the work week... half way through!!!

Are you linking-up for Saw It, Pinned It, Did It tomorrow with Steph & Katie??

A Baby Shower + A Birthday!

Hey y'all!  This weekend was nothing short of go, go, go
& a lot of fun!

After packing up the car on Friday evening I drove about an hour North to have a girls night with my best friend Kimberly & mommy-to-be along with a couple of girlfriends from college.  It was really a lot of fun to hang out with the girls & get ready for the baby shower the next morning.

Here's some shots from the baby shower... thanks to Katie for a couple shower ideas!  :)

This punch was SO delicious y'all!
2 2 Liter bottles of Sprite
Raspberry Sherbert
1 can of Cran Raspberry Juice Concentrate (frozen)

Pour in the defrosted frozen concentrate & Sprite.  About 10 minutes before guest arrive begin dipping in the sherbert & let the bubbles begin!

We had a really nice turn out at the shower.  Now, all we need is for little Miss Kyan to come on & join our crazy world!!!

On Friday I went out to lunch with some of my sweet co-workers & later had some dee-lic-ious red velvet cake!

Yummy!!!

On Saturday night a group of our friends met us out for dinner & drinks to help me ring in 26!

More Red Velvet cake from Nothing Bundt Cakes... sooo good!!!  I have the best besties in the world!

Ignore the silly posing... Dad kept acting like he was 10 & wanted to pinch my cheeks!  Seriously??  Cut it out & act your age... for a second!

Poncho from Teskey's Uptown

Over all it was a great weekend!  Celebrating the life (or soon-to-be) of a new baby girl & ringing in year 26... Life is gooood!

Thank you all so SO much for all of the birthday wishes!  Y'all sure know how to make a girl feel special!!!

I hope everyone has a happy Monday & is getting ready for Turkey day!!!

XOXO,

I'm Embracing It All...

All 26 years of this life I've been blessed to live!

I've been up, I've been down

I've loved & lost

I've been completely confused & perfectly content & happy

I've stumbled along the way & learned to get right back up... & ride again

I have an amazing family who loves me with unconditional love

I have some of the most amazing friends a girl could ever ask for

I believe in a God who is loving & forgiving

At 26 years YOUNG

I'm learning everyday exactly who I am

I'm learning to better roll with the punches

I have a man who loves me & actually wants to be with me forever!

Most importantly, I'm learning to love & embrace everything about myself.

Here's to the next 26 years!!!

Thank you all so much for the birthday wishes I've already received!!!

This blogging community really is something else!

Cheers y'all!

I hope everyone has a great weekend!

DiY: Painted Cork Board

Whoop Whoop!  It's Thursday!  One day closer to Friday & the weekend aaaannnnd ma birthday!

For some reason I'm excited about my birthday this year.  But, I'll save the rest of that for tomorrow.  What's most important today is the Saw it. Pinned it. Did it. link up hosted by Stephanie & Katie!

At work I have a small cube.  I've done pretty good at filling up my space but, there's one spot on the wall next to my window that is blank.  Blank & boring!

I thought about putting up a few picture frames but, then I found an even better idea on Pinterest.  Duh.

I stumbled upon these two painted & decorated cork boards & instantly had my idea in my noggin'!
Painted a picture frame, removed the glass, put in cork board, and stamped a fleur de lis on it.

So, off to Hobby Lobby I went!

Supplies Needed:
Medium sized cork board
1 paint color for the border & 1 paint color for the design
Twine or Jute (not pictured)
Painters tape or masking tape (also not pictured)

Start by taping off the inside boarder of the cork board so the paint doesn't get on the cork when painting the border.

Once the border is dry & you're ready to add your design, do a practice run to make sure that it will come off the sponge correctly.

After getting your design on the cork board (hopefully it all turned out great) you'll want to take a small paint brush & paint a second coat so it will pop & be more visible.

Once all the paint is dry, secure the Jute or Twine on the back for your "hanger".

Find some fun push pins.  Grab some of your favorite snap shots & you have one cute looking cork board to hang in that bare space in your cube!

I just love the way my cork board turned out & am excited to now have it in my office cube!

What have you been painting lately?

Is a cork board on your list of crafts now?

This could really be used in several different ways... just get a little creative with it!

Be sure to check out what everyone else has Saw, Pinned, Did over at Stephanie or Katie's!

It's Ma Birthday!

Yep! It seems it's that time of year again.

No, not Thanksgiving & not 40-something days until Christmas....

It's ma birthday!!!  Friday I'll be the big TWO-SIX!  Buuut... Since everyone is dying to know what's on my wish list, I figured I'd make it all pretty for ya... (ahemm... Matt & Dad!)  ;)

What girl doesn't love some new additions to your closet!?
1. Aztec poncho... I'm dying to find one of these this Winter.  They are so stylish & look so comfortable!
2. Headband from Three Birds Nest.  I love this shop & you will too once you've seen their shop!
3. More Boots.  Y'all I really want another pair of boots.  I neeeeeed another pair of boots!  Can you see me dancin' around the dance floor in these on a Saturday night??  So cute!

MONOGRAM ME!
There's really not much more to say about these... "If it doesn't move, monogram it."
Anything & everything I want monogrammed.
Matt thinks this obsession is getting a little overboard but, I nicely let him know that it's not going away anytime soon.  :)

If all else fails...
2 of my favorite places & one could never go wrong with gifting these!

Please don't empty your pocket books on lil' ole me buuut.... if you want to spend a dime or two I wouldn't be upset.  Happy Shopping Matt & Dad!

XOXO,

The Making of Our Gallery Wall

Hey y'all!  I hope everyone had a fabulous weekend!

A while back I decided that I wanted to do a gallery wall in our house & I finally made that come to life a few weeks ago!  It's not a very big one or anything but, it is a gallery wall to call ours.  After we got our engagement pictures back I thought this was the perfect way to show off some of our favorites from the bunch!

I got my original inspiration from Julie @ The Girl in the Red Shoes when I stumbled upon a post she did a while back updating & creating her gallery wall.  I instantly fell in love with how she placed the picture frames & that it is all one solid color (except mine has some color within because that was an after thought for m).
Photobucket

While I didn't think to put frame sized papers on the wall like smarty Julie did, I first laid out all the frames on the floor & figured out just how I wanted them placed on the wall when hung up.
I moved every frame around multiple times... this final decision did not come quickly.  After all, I did want to come home & like what I saw in my living room each day!

So, my lovely assistant (a.k.a. fiance Matt) & I started hanging frames.  & yes, I need help hanging frames so I can see exactly where they're at.

Here's our finished gallery wall!

I am so in love with the way it turned out!  Everyday I come home & open the front door & look straight into the living room & this is what I get to see!  Love it!!!

The "Y" I found at First Monday last month.
The 2 oval frames I've had for a while & they were black, I painted them the current color.
The turquoise frame was originally red & bought from Hobby Lobby - I painted it as well.
The "and" sign (or ampersand) is also from Hobby Lobby along with the other 2 frames.
The "Southern" sign I made... more on that later this week.  :)

Do you have a gallery wall?

Do you like solid colors or colors mixed in?

I would love to see your gallery wall too!

Hope y'all have a great day!

XOXO,

Shayna
