Showered With Lots 'O Love

Hey y'all!

Everything involving the Embry-Yancey wedding is in full swing at this point!
Today marks 38 days until the BIG day!!!
(This was taken yesterday - find me on Insta @ shayna_e)

As I mentioned the other day, we had another shower thrown for us this last weekend.  This time it was by my aunts & future sister-in-law for family & a few very close family friends.  It was really nice to see everyone & especially those family members that I don't get to see very often anymore.

Since having separate showers & none of the guest being the same at both showers, it was decided to put the decorations from the first shower to good use & recycle them at this shower.

Totally awesome idea I think!  Makes the decorations more useful & a total money saver!  BONUS!

Since some of my guy cousins were in town Matt drove out to Azle with me & they were all to go hang out & do "guy stuff" at my Dad's house.  So, it was nice to have him there for a bit, helped calm my nerves for sure!

We were showered with many gifts on Saturday.  We are so blessed & thankful for the people we have in our lives!

All of the wonderful hostess'!

My two best friends helped my aunts out since they were planning from afar.
Love these two girls soooo much!

My two aunts, 2nd cousin & great-great aunt... she's 80+ & is still sharp as a whistle!

My future sister-in-law... we can't wait for it to be OFFICIAL!!!

It was such a wonderful shower!  The food was good & the company was great!

I'm off to do bridal portraits later today!!!  I originally didn't want to do them but, now I'm glad I decided to & cannot wait for this afternoon!

Have a great day y'all!

P.S. My green dress is from Old Navy found here.  (Psst, it's on sale right now!)

Oh Heeeey!

Wow!  It's been a hot minute hasn't it!?

Believe it or not, life has been absolutely insane the last couple of weeks!  So, no I did not go into a deep depression or anything of the sorts after my Mom's birthday buuut, THANK YOU all for sweet comments & e-mails!  I know she had a great big party up in heaven!

So, you're probably wondering what have I been up to, right?
If not just play along here... mmkay!?

We attended another wedding back in Graham...

It was absolutely gorgeous & I would take the brides wedding gown as my 2nd favorite dress next to mine!  GAH!  Just gorgeous!  (& of course no pictures, sorry!)

We did however eat the rest of their cake

& Saw a beautiful rainbow on the way to church the next morning!

Matt & I got all of our invitations put together, envelopes stuffed & ready to send out

But then... Oh but then, I realized that we forgot something in about half of the invitations.
So, Matt & I re-opened ALL of the invitations...
& Literally ironed out the problem!
(More on that later... good laugh now later & a good lesson!)

I was also able to get together with a few bridesmaids & my friends mom who is acting as reception coordinator & got some of our center pieces done.  If you don't know already, I've pretty much fully embraced the whole "DIY Bride" thing & making pretty much everything my/ourselves.
It was a long day of crafts but, everything turned out awesome!  I can't wait to see it all come together!

40 more days by the way... but, who's counting right!?

And... This last weekend was my 2nd shower hosted by 2 of my aunts, my future sister-in-law & my Dad's fiance.
We had such a good time & again, it was so nice to see everyone!
I'll be doing a proper re-cap of the festivities later this week!

I think that about sums it up... I know we've been doing other stuff but, just the normal 6 weeks out wedding stuff, life stuff, etc.  Not really blog worthy.

Side note... Matt is still looking for a job!  We had some awesome news on Friday & are hoping to hear some more awesome news early this week too.  So, if you could please keep your fingers crossed for him & say a little prayer?  It would mean so much to us!

I've missed y'all & being around here... I hope y'all have too.
(Again, if not please just roll with it)

Hope y'all have a great Monday!

A Very Special Happy Birthday!

Hi friends!

Today is a tug-at-my-heart, lump-in-my-throat, let's cheers to the good times sort of day.  Today is my Mom's 49th Birthday!!!

This morning was one of those mornings I just needed her.  And then I remembered what today was.  I know that there's a reason I needed her today & she needs me too.

I know no matter how much time or how far the distance we're always there for each other.
I think this years birthday is especially hard with our upcoming wedding - it's these sort of life moments that are the real kicker.

However, I feel like I'll be celebrating my Mom's birthday in one of the best ways... a glass or two of vino with some of my best girlfriends!

If you don't already know, read more about my special angel Momma here.

I'm looking forward to some girl time, another special wedding & some little birthday celebrations with extended family this weekend!

I hope y'all have a great weekend!

March Goals

Wow!  Can y'all believe it's already 7 days into March!?!?

I probably shouldn't remind myself of that considering I'm on the count down of my life with a million little things left to do!

February was a good month for me... Let's see how I measured up with my goals I set

*File my taxes - bring me the money honey! - Done & done!  & I already got my money in the bank!

*Get through the whole month doing YF - Um yeah... Didn't do so great on this one.  I made it a solid week, was down 5 lbs, felt great & then completely fell off track.  I'll update more on it all later.

*Finalize Bride & Groom's cakes + a million other wedding to-do's! - I took a survey on this the other day.  I haven't given my cake baker my final decision but, I pretty much know what I'm going to do though... secret until after!  :)

*Start taking care of ME... eating right, working out, getting enough sleep (sleep? What's that??)  I could go on & on but, basically I want & NEED to start taking care of me.  I don't want to look like a tired rag doll come May 4th!  Ya hear me!? - I started on this & it feels great!

*Set aside special time with Matt to make a fun date!  With all things wedding right now, it's been easy to get distracted & not make that quality time for each other.  We must be better about this! - This has yet to happen... but, with my recent life changes I can say that we've enjoyed the little moments that. much. more.

*Remember to breath & soak it all in... this is the only time in my life these things will happen for me.  I need to stop, and smell the roses.  Relish in it woman! I'm breathing.  There's a lot left to do but, considering I opened my "wedding binder" yesterday for the first time in over a week, I would say I've relaxed about things.  What gets done will get done.  I don't have a lot of time in March but, April lends a couple more open weekend so I know I'll be able to take care of some things then.

Hello, March!

*Get back on Yeast Free & complete 1 month!

*Send out wedding invitations... Eeek!

*Make at least one special date night/day/afternoon for Matt & I

*Try on my wedding dress by the end of the month & feel amazingly beautiful in it! (I don't right now because I have weight to lose! BOO!)

*Cook dinner 3-4 times a week... If I'm doing YF right this will be more often!

*Do a "No Spending Week" at least once - Matt & I do this ever so often & it's AMAZING!

I'm hoping I can stick with these & meet all of these goals!  Wish me luck!?

What are your goals for March??

A Wedding Weekend!

Wow!  What a weekend we had!  Matt & I and Hannah & Brady left town on Friday to celebrate two of our very good friends getting married!  The guys were in the wedding so we were there a day early... and celebrating a day early as well!

Rehearsal Dinner

Hannah is a new blogger so go check her out!

After dinner we went out on the town to catch up with others who were in town a night early.
It was so fun to catch up with friends we don't get to see very often & have some extra time to spend with everyone!

The groom to be & my man... two hunks!

A bunch of good lookin' guys if I do say so myself!

The bride was absolutely beautiful!!!

And then it was time for some fun to be had!

Sorry ladies... they're all taken!  :)

Mr. & Mrs. Robles!!!

I've never been to a wedding where there was so much love & emotion between two families.  Multiple times throughout the night, many if not all eyes were filled with tears - tears of joy of course!  It was a beautiful wedding & super fun reception!  We couldn't be more happy for our friends & look forward to spending many many years of friendship with them together!

What's your favorite part about a wedding??

Do you have a lot to attend this year??

I hope y'all are having a great week so far!
