Wedding Rewind... My Bridal Pictures!

In just a few short days, Matt & I will officially be married for 3 months!  3 months!!!  Where has the time gone??

I figured since it has already been three months, I'll go ahead and begin sharing some of our wedding pictures with y'all here on the blog!

Today I'm sharing some of my favorite bridal pictures!  Originally, I wasn't going to do bridal pictures but, after being at a wedding earlier this year and seeing how beautiful the bride's turned out I asked Matt what he thought & he agreed! The Photographer, Dara, and I hit it off right away!  She's absolutely hilarious and the girl's got skillzzz!!

My Mom's wedding ring... so happy she was able to capture the beauty & specialness of her ring.

Funny story... school had just let out & it was tee time at the golf course right by us... we almost got ran over a few times!  Don't worry, Dara doesn't try to kill all of her clients!

I don't mean to come off vain here but, I just love these pictures!  I'm not generally one who sits down & says, "Oh, look how beautiful I look!"  But, Dara has a way of making you feel so comfortable & reminds you to just have fun with it!  I guess it's all about embracing who you are & loving yourself... your whole self.

I hope to start sharing more of our pictures here on the blog.  It was such an amazing day & I want to remember everything about it!

See more of Dara's work @ Dara Yvette Photography!  If you're in the North Texas area, check her out!!!

*All pictures are Copyright of Dara Yvette Photography.  If you would like to use any of these pictures in any way, please contact myself or Dara.

Hope y'all love these just as much as I do!

Back to the Grind!

Oh the weekend... why must you be so short??

Even though most weekends are shorter than necessary, we know how to make it a productive one.  So take that short weekend!

1. Friday night consisted of dinner at Cold Stone - yes, ice cream for dinner!  {Perks of being an adult... making adult decisions!}  Taking the pup for a walk around TCU campus & swinging on the swing in the middle of said campus.  Perfection!

2 & 3. House work.  After a month off we're back to work!  Our Saturday was spent taking out paneling, discovering the awesome patch job of old drywall behind the paneling & taking down the painted over wall paper that covered the ceiling.  Pure genius' whoever did this!  {insert sarcasm}  However, this is a blessing in disguise because the previous owner's were smokers so, in having to put new drywall up it ensures that we're getting as much nicotine OUT as possible!

4.  Bingham getting an impromptu bath at my Dad's barn because he decided to go take a roll in the cow poo.  That child... I'm not sure who he takes after but, it definitely isn't me!  ;)

How was your weekend?

Productive or full of fun??

Linking up with Sami & Meg today!

Have a great Monday y'all!

+ My thoughts, prayers & condolences go out to the Kidd Kraddick in the Morning show & all Kidd's family & friends.  Although I never met the man - only knew him through the car speakers, he touch my life & so many others in ways that are indescribable!  Such a funny, loving, kind-hearted & giving human being.  The radio world & beyond lost a such a wonderful person this weekend.  RIP Kidd Kraddick!

My Best Friend is Getting Married!

This past weekend I had the pleasure of co-hosting my best friend's bridal shower!  Her & her hubby-to-be will soon be headed off to the beach, just the two of them, to say their "I Do's" and become husband and wife!  As much as it saddens me to not be there, I was honored to help throw this beautiful shower with several other women who love & adore Hiedi!

After the bridal shower we cleaned up, changed into our swimmies & hit the road for the lake!  We were also celebrating her bachelorette party that day/night!  Here's some pictures I snapped of the shower & bachelorette party... enjoy!

Pretty & delicious cupcakes made by the bride's sister!

Floral arrangement & Pinterest craft created by moi

I've Got Sunshine & Rainy Days!

This weekend is one we'll file under "Perfection".  That's exactly what it was.  Texas is known for it's crazy weather & we joke that Mother Nature has quite the mood swings at times.  Turns out those mood swings can be a positive thing too!

Saturday the sun was out so much there was NO getting away from it!  It was hot, hot, HOT.  So, after we took Bingham to the vet for a check-up (Pup's all healthy!) Matt & I went to the Parker County Peach Festival to mozy around in the heat.  We ate some delicious peach flavored ice cream & had the best Peach Tea around!  It was a great afternoon but, the sun & heat quickly got to us.
Mom put the camera down... I'm at the doctor for goodness sakes!?

Thankfully we were able to hit the lake with some good friends of ours for a late afternoon cruise & the guys to get in some time on the wake board!

Sunsets on the lake are some of my favorite

Sunday morning we woke up to something we haven't heard in a LONG time... Rain!  It was a nice steady rain all. day. long.  Which turned into a day of a little house cleaning, movies with the man & crafts for my best friends wedding shower - I just love productive yet relaxing Sundays!

See?  Mother Nature did not disappoint this weekend!  One day of perfectly, scorching hot weather that permitted an afternoon at the lake & another day of cooler temperatures accompanied by rain - perfection in my book!

Linking-up with Sami for some shenanigans today!

How was your weekend??

Make it to any fun local festivals??

Five on Friday!

Happy Friday y'all!

SO much has been going on lately {which I'm loving} but this week has been great to sort of slow down & enjoy some quality time with my husband.  Have no fear, we'll be back to our normal go-getter ways soon!

Linking up today with Christina & the girls for Five on Friday

One - I visited my favorite hair lady yesterday and finally said "Bye Bye" to my hi-lights & "Helloooo" brunette!  I've wanted to go back completely brunette since the Winter but, it didn't make sense to do when I would just be hi-lighting it again for the wedding.  So, I waited... until yesterday!
LOVING it so far!  #feelsgoodtobebrunetteagain

Two - Matt & I finally went grocery shopping Tuesday night after about 3 weeks or so... stocked up the cabinets refrigerator with all fresh fruits, veggies & lean meats!  It has felt so good to get some clean food back in my system - I can already tell a difference!

Three - Speaking of said grocery store trip... not only was it nice to have a little date with Matt but, it was actually kind of fun!  I dance partied in the isles & Matt made fun of me... oh sweet love!

Four - I'm going to get crafty this weekend for my best friends bridal shower that is coming up!  I stocked up on some faux flowers {Hob Lob 50% off florals this week!}
Pre-view of what I'll be working with...

Five - I'm slowly but sure working on revamping & updating my blog... ya know, making it look a little more profesh like.  Most recently, I've updated my  About Me page.  You can check it out at the top of my page!  Say HI & let me know what you think!

There's a lot going on in Ft Worth this weekend & I'm having a hard time deciding what adventure to get into!?  I know, the horror!!

What are some things your loving this week?

I hope y'all have a fabulous weekend!!!

Well, I have to say that I don't feel as much anxiety about these goals as I did last month!  HAHA!  Maybe I put too much on my plate last month??  Oh well, "shoot for the moon & you'll land among the stars!"  One of my FAVORITE quotes!  We did get quite a bit done, all things considered so I think of June as a success!

What are your goals for July??

Our Visitors from 4,943 Miles Away!

Luckily, Matt & I got our house in order just in time to head out the door to pick up our friends that were arriving that afternoon from Denmark!  Yes, Denmark!

(Quick back story... we met them on couchsurfing.org 2 years ago.  They crashed on our couch for a weekend & we hit it off with them!  We've all stayed in touch over the last 2 years & since they love Texas so much they decided to come back for another visit!)

And now you can hit the little red X at the top.... I know my freak flag is now flying!

Moving along... Saturday night we went to the rodeo in Ft Worth & then went out to eat Texas BBQ!  No pictures we're taken on my part.  #bloggerfail  It was Natasja & Martin's first rodeo ever & they had a blast!

Sunday was Matt's parent's 40th wedding anniversary.  We traveled to Graham to watch them renew their vows & celebrate after!  It was the sweetest thing as they both got choked up & you could tell just how much they love each other... even after all of these years!

Matt & I had to work Monday & Tuesday so they were low-key evenings, grilling out & enjoying the cold front that had come through... 90*!!!

After shopping all day during the day at Grapevine Mills Mall, Wednesday night we took Natasja & Martin out on the town to a few of our favorite bars & to hear some live, local music!

Uncle Lucius @ The Capital Bar
New Coor's Orginal bottles??

Ending the night at Poag Mohones Irish Pub!

Thursday was of course 4th of July!  Natasja & Martin's first 4th of July to celebrate (which they loved! :)) & their 10 year anniversary!!!  We played for a little bit on the lake & then came back to Ft Worth to watch the city fireworks from the rooftop of Bar Louie!

My festive outfit of the night!

Friday afternoon we ventured to the Rangers baseball game, did some tailgating before & cheered on the Rangers against the Astros!  Another 1st for Natasja & Martin!!!

Saturday afternoon was spent at Rahr Brewery in Ft. Worth & the historic White Elephant Saloon.  Another blogger fail, no pictures!  We ended the night by ordering Pizza (thanks to the Texas Rangers win the night before!) & playing Chicken Foot dominoes!  Has anyone else ever played Chicken Foot??  It's forever a childhood memory for when I'd go to my grandparent's house or at big family get-togethers!

One last first... SNOCONES!!!!
Natasja & Martin LOVED the snocones & it was mine & Matt's first of the season so they were all extra yummy!!!

On Sunday after church we dropped them off at the Amtrak Train station so they could head south to Austin to visit with some more friends!  We were sad to see them go but, they'll be back next week for a couple more days before they leave for good!

Matt & I had so much fun getting to hang out with Martin & Natasja more & show them around our great home of Ft. Worth!  We learned all about Tennis & Wimbledon & the Tour de France... And I learned that I'm not quite the shopper I used to be! Gaasssp!  Natasja can shop & she doesn't drop!  HA!

Can't wait to see y'all one last time before y'all head home!!!

Have you ever played hostess to friends in your city?
