Baby Yancey - 22 Week Bumpdate!

Hello October!!  So glad to see you!

How far along:  22 Weeks!!

Baby Size:  Baby boy is about the size of a Papaya - 10.5 - 11.8 in long (head to toe)
& 12.7 - 20.8 oz.

Weight Gain:
Maybe 10 - 12 lbs total, maybe more

Maternity Clothes:  Most definitely jeans & leggings but, still can fit into most of my regular tops.  However, they're certainly getting snug.  Not too long & they won't fit.
Psst... Motherhood Maternity has their leggings buy 1 get 1 free... yeah, free!!

Stretch Marks/Swelling:  I think it's a mix of swelling & weight gain but, my hands are certainly feeling the gain/puffiness.  Boo!

Sleep:  Still sleeping pretty good overall

Food Cravings or Aversions:  Still having a major sweet tooth from time to time.  I try not to give in too much.

Gender:  BOY!

Movement:  Oh yes!  I have been enjoying feeling him move & his kicks too!  Matt got to feel him move late last week too & that was a really sweet moment!

Symptoms:  Growing belly, hormones that make me cry & keep me hot all the time - which is the strangest thing because I'm typically a cold natured person.  I'm certainly ready for the cooler temps to stick around!

Labor Signs:  No but, the thought that He could come this early terrifies me!

Belly button in or out:  In

Wedding rings on or off:  On & off.  With my hands swelling they are becoming hard to take off at times and that freaks my out (I'm slightly chlosterphobic) so, if things don't change I'm afraid they'll be off sooner than later.

Mood:  Hormonal

Nursery:  This last Sunday Matt & I put the crib together!  I walked past his room yesterday & had to stop & let my heart smile for a second.  Cannot believe there will be a baby in there in just 4 months!

What I miss:  Nothing really comes to mind but, I do wish my wedding rings fit with ease.  I really, really don't want to take them off.

Best moment this week:  Feeling him kick, watching Matt feel him kick & putting his crib together!  Ahh!  So exciting!!!

What I'm looking forward to:  Making more nursery progress!

Weekend Rundown - Celebrations!

This weekend was such a busy but, fun weekend!  A lot of celebrating was done on Saturday - first a baby shower for my best friend & then dinner for my Dad's birthday (which was yesterday - Happy Birthday Dad!)

My best friend is also having a little boy & we went with the theme of her nursery, navy blue & lime green with deer.  It was so fun putting everything that all of the hostess' did together & seeing it all come to life!

It was such a great shower!  Mom & Dad-to-be were gifted with many wonderful things & are pretty much set for Blaine's arrival in early November!

Saturday night we were off to Texas Roadhouse for dinner for my Dad's birthday!  It was so nice getting together with him & my brother - we certainly don't do it enough!

Five on Friday!

Happy Friday friends!!  I haven't been more thankful to see a Friday in a long time! Nothing in particular to make it bad but,  just TGIF... For real!

Let's celebrate...

1.  Who all watched Jersey Bell on Bravo?  I thought from the previews I would for sure not like it but, I couldn't if been more wrong!  Jaime & all of her friends... I just adore!! They each bring different things to the table but all click so well as girlfriends. It was certainly refreshing to see women truly enjoying each other's friendship & building each other up. Crossing my fingers for a season 2!!

2.  Speaking  of TV.... WHO WATCHED SCANDAL LAST NIGHT???  You know you're husband is a smart man when it's 8:20 & he automatically turns the DVR over to Scandal!! I loved last nights show & cannot wait for next Thursday!!!

3.  This weekend is my best friends baby shower for her little boy Blaine!  I could not be more excited for her & her shower day to finally be here!  There is just something so sweet about receiving things for a new baby, is there not!?  Also, the thought of our boys growing up together, being best friends, like us since the 1st grade... Oh, just makes my heart melt!!  Eek! 24 more hours!!

4.  Saw this pretty sunrise this morning driving into work...
Key word being "saw"... I'm usually blinded by the sun each morning so this was certainly a welcomed treat!

5.  Really, truly...#TGIF!!!
Where's the O'doul's!?

Hope y'all have a great weekend!!

& Did you hear?? THE 5 on Friday link-up is coming back next week! Whoop! Whoop!!

Baby Yancey - 21 Week Bumpdate

How far along: 21 Weeks!!

Baby Size:  Baby boy is the size of a Pomegranate

Weight Gain:
Up 8 lbs total, I think, from pre-pregnancy weight

Maternity Clothes:  Definitely in jeans & leggings but, can still wear my maxi skirts & most tops.  It's certainly becoming more difficult though to get dressed.

Stretch Marks/Swelling:  No new stretch marks but, some slight swelling in my hands on Saturday while out all day.

Sleep:  Pretty good... My arms aren't falling asleep in the middle of the night so, that's certainly a plus!

Food Cravings or Aversions:  It's official, I cannot handle the smell of red meat!  I about lost it last week & then this last weekend I couldn't even eat a burger.  On the flip side Captain Crunch has been my main "craving" this week though.

Gender:  Sweet baby boy!

Movement:  Yes, & it's really cool!  I can't figure out a pattern though... I'm anxious to feel him even more!

Symptoms:  I thought the nose bleeds were passed but, I had a small one yesterday morning.

Labor Signs:  No!

Belly button in or out: In

Wedding rings on or off:  On for the most part.  Saturday it was so warm outside though that I didn't wear them because my hands were puffy.

Mood:  Anxious & excited!

Nursery:  His crib came in yesterday (!!!) & the mattress should be in by the end of the week!  I bought the crib skirt & sheet last week & ordered his blanket earlier this week!  I am SO excited to see his crib start coming together!!

What I miss:  Nothing that I can think of

Best moment this week:  Opening his crib... Makes it so surreal!  There's many other things that make it surreal but, I continue to have those moments of "wow! we're having a baby!"  "this is going to be our baby!"

What I'm looking forward to:  Putting his crib together (hopefully this weekend) & seeing his nursery begin to come together!

Fall Decoration Inspiration

Hi friends! I can't believe that Fall is officially upon us but, I couldn't be more excited about it!  Good food, delicious Fall scents, cooler days, & comfier clothes... What more could we need!?  I've been wanting to get my Fall decorations out since Labor Day Weekend & it has yet to happen. However, this evening that changes! I'm excited to bust out the orange, brown & cream colors & spread them around our house. This will be the 2nd Fall in our house & things have changed/been added since last year so, I'm excited to get to decorating!  Here's some inspiration I've found via Pinterest {duh} that I'm hoping to recreate or build from in our home.

First up, the front door.  While I loved our wreath from last year, I'm definitely looking to step up my game & really scream "Hello Fall" starting at the front stoop!  Love this wreath & how jute was used to secure the letter because, if your front door is like mine & faces the sun the majority of the day, you've had hot-glued letters fall off - not cool. Ha!

I recently purchased two lanterns that are hung in our dining room. I'll be using this as inspiration to fill the lanterns with Fall leaves & other decor.

With our dining table being completed, I'm looking forward to creating a fun Fall centerpiece. I have mason jars that I will fill with smaller candles & add in floral around.

Praying the writing/drawing gods are on my side... I'm hoping to recreate something similar on or big chalk board in the breakfast nook/kitchen area.

And lastly, my DIY Fall Leaves Garland that I made last year. I don't know if this will go back to it's old home or find a new one yet... Or I may just make another one. Either way, I love the way this garland turned out & can't wait to use it again this year!  {You can find the tutorial here}

What is your Fall decoration inspiration?

Have you started decorating yet?

Weekend Rundown

This weekend was a much needed one... few things on the "to-do" list & more things on the "have fun & relax" list.  We certainly tended to more of the fun list than the to-do list & it was perfect!  Saturday we ran some errands & then went to Jerry's World aka Cowboy's AT&T Stadium to cheer on the Tarleton Texans against Florida Tech.  We were actually all having too much fun tailgating & playing washers that we opted to not even go into the game.  It was a fun day with friends that we don't get to see often enough!

Sunday was filled with well... good food & relaxation!  I have been wanting some of my Mimi's cinnamon toast for a while now.  I can't make it as good as she did, of course but, it was still a delicious treat!

We watched the Cowboys win! & then decided to grab lunch at Torchy's Tacos.  I have only been once before & it was Matt's first time... We both enjoyed it & agreed we will be back again!  The queso was a little on the spicy side but, the kind of spicy that keeps you coming back for more, ya know what I mean??  So, so good!  After lunch we decided to head back to Buy Buy Baby & finish up the last few things on our registry!  Glad to say it is done & done!

I would say that it's because I'm pregnant that Sunday revolved around food for me but, let's be honest... I just really love food & especially good food!

Did you eat your way through the weekend too?

Baby Yancey - 19/20 Week Bumpdate

Yes, I'm skipping a week... sort of.  A couple weeks ago when we went for our big anatomy scan, my Dr. moved up my due date to January 30th.  {It was February 3rd}  I really didn't think much of it being moved up a few days, I mean really do we really know when he's going to make His arrival??  Well, yeah... turns out it makes a difference.  So much of a difference that it moves my pregnancy up a whole week!  So, technically we're covering week 20... & Celebrating that we're officially half way through!!!

How far along:  19 20 Weeks

Baby Size:  The size of a large banana.  About 6.5 inches long & a little over 10 oz.

Weight Gain:
  I'll say 6 lbs.

Maternity Clothes:  Somewhat... I can still fit into some of my regular clothes but, they're getting a little more snug with each day that passes.  I am so thankful for maternity leggings though & can't wait for my skinny jeans to come in!!  {In what life am I excited about wearing maternity clothes!?}

Stretch Marks/Swelling:  I think I've found some small ones on the ta-ta's but, nothing too bad!

Sleep:  Descent but, I guess I get into such a deep sleep that my arms start falling asleep & it wakes me up.  So, I toss & turn quite a bit.

Exercise:  Nada!

Food Cravings or Aversions:  Major sweet tooth cravings & cereal!  Last night we Matt made skinny meatloaf for dinner & while I was fixing the mashed potatoes I thought I was going to lose it smelling the meatloaf.  Woof!  I don't know what it was but, it just didn't smell good.  So, I had cereal for dinner instead.  HA!

Gender:  BOY!  Jack Jack!!

Movement:  Yes!  The little nugget is certainly moving & I think just in the last couple of days I can feel him from the outside... Hoping I can catch him soon so Matt can feel.  But, everything I read says that will probably come in the next couple of weeks - anyone remember when this happened for them?

Symptoms:  I don't want to jinx myself but, I think the headaches may have subsided!?  Did have 1 nose bleed earlier this week but, nothing else major... except a growing belly!

Labor Signs:  No, no, no!

Belly button in or out:  In

Wedding rings on or off:  On

Mood:  I would say overall good.  If you asked Tuesday though I would have said highly irritable!  I don't know what was wrong with me but, I just wasn't in the mood for anything that day.

Nursery:  It is officially cleaned out & only baby items are taking up space!!  We have ordered the crib & mattress & some of the bedding too!  I just cannot wait for all of that to arrive!!

What I miss:  Fall beers... I realize that probably sounds bad, especially 2 weeks in a row but, y'all it is that time of year & I just want a pumpkin beer darn it!!

Best moment this week:  Finding out I'm a week ahead in my pregnancy than what I thought!!  Boo-ya!!

What I'm looking forward to:  Nursery furniture arriving & starting to buy decorations for his room!!

Weekend Rundown!

Say whaaat!?  I'm posting something other than a bumpdate!?  No, your eyes are not playing tricks on you... I'm hoping to get back here more often with more than just bumpdates.  However, with that said... this is a life style blog & right now our life (at least every thought of mine) is pretty consumed with all things baby.

Onto the weekend...

This was the first weekend that we had that there were no house projects that had to be done, sleeping that was needed in the middle of the day... we could do whatever we want!  Matt was a super husband & went to a few stores with me to find some maternity pants & leggings.  Thankfully we found leggings & jeans - whoop whoop!!
If you saw this in Insta then you already know... Saturday it took me way too long to get dressed.  Sunday was a much better experience with the right clothes!

After, It was off to lunch to eat some of our favorite nachos in town at Bar Louie!  Super odd place for nachos but, they're perfectly spicy & just oh-so-good!  But then... oh but then... we really didn't have anything else to do so, I came up with the bright idea to head to Buy Buy Baby to finish our registry that I had started online.  What I thought would take us a couple hours ended up taking us 4 hours!!!  Needless to say, we were exhausted & pretty much crashed when we got home!

Sunday was full of all things baby... I attended a family friends baby shower & then went to take my best friend's maternity pictures!  They turned out sooo good & I can't wait to share a little sneak peak with y'all!  Must save them for the shower in a couple of weeks though!!  Matt had been out riding motorcycles that day with some friends {the weather was gorgeous this weekend!} & I was a little jealous to say the least.  They were all so sweet & came to pick me up that evening for one last bike ride before ours is probably sold.  It was a really fun treat & I'm so glad we were able to take that ride!!

Feels good to be back... hopefully this girl can stay on track!

Baby Yancey - 18 Week Bumpdate

I call this... dinner is cooked... I forgot I needed a picture for the blog.  #bloggerfail

How far along:  18 weeks

Baby Size:  As big as a sweet potato

Weight Gain:
As of last Friday I was up 5 lbs from my pre-pregnancy weight.  I asked my nurse if it was ok & she assured me that I was doing good & that I would start to put on more weight on later in my 2nd tri-mester & certainly in my 3rd tri-mester.  So, no hate mail please!  ;)

Maternity Clothes:  None this week... I really need to get my jeans hymned!

Stretch Marks/Swelling:  Nothing this week thankfully!

Sleep:  Back in my own bed & sleeping great!

Exercise:  Does running around like a chicken with your head cut off count??  Now that Matt is home in the evenings we are planning to start walking!

Food Cravings or Aversions:  Oh my gosh talk about a major sweet tooth!  If you follow me on Instagram you already know how awesome Matt was and caved to my sweet tooth by bringing home sopapillas!!  Ahh!  So good!!

Gender:  BOY!  Sweet baby Jack Montgomery!!!

Movement:  Yes!  I can say with certainty that those grumbling feelings I was feeling is certainly our little dude!  Just Wednesday night I bent over to pick something up & my lower abdomen felt really tight.  After I stood up I felt my stomach & it was hard as a rock.  It was the weirdest feeling but, so cool too!  I can't wait to really feel him move!

Symptoms:  With feeling him move I think he's been on my bladder the last couple of days because I can't quit running to the ladies room!  Also, the tatas... they've been noticeably bigger than before (I know this b/c I've never been overly blessed there).  Well, I can say that is all changing these days!  It's really kind of weird & I can't quit laughing about it honestly!

Labor Signs:  Negative!

Belly button in or out:  In

Wedding rings on or off:  On

Mood:  Overall happy but, we got some news this last week that well, without going into too much detail, has just given us a real reality check.

Nursery:  It's going to be worked on this weekend & I'm pretty sure we've found our crib!

What I miss:  Pumpkin/Fall beer.  Just being honest here.  Trying new/different ones was one of my favorite things to do last Fall & now I get to watch Matt & our friends drink them.... Next year!

Best moment this week:  Seeing our little boy just smiling away on the ultrasound last Friday!

What I'm looking forward to:  Shopping for nursery furniture & decorations!  Sorry if you follow me on Pinterest... bear with me for a bit will ya?  :)

Baby Yancey Gender Reveal Party

WOW!  To say that this weekend was one for the record books is an understatement.  Getting to see our little babe during Friday's ultrasound, the box of balloons being dropped off by my best friend, preparing our home for all of our friends & family, OPENING that box of balloons & finding out that we are in fact having a precious baby BOY - Jack Montgomery!!!  I couldn't have asked for a better weekend!  (Except if the rain could have held off... but, that's the only thing!)

For the evening we grilled burgers with all the fixings and had all the best dips - seriously, corn dip, sweet jalapeno dip, pumpkin dip & pace pinwheels.  We topped off the night with a delicious layered funfetti cake!  Sadly, we did not think of getting pictures with all of our family & friends but, we know who all was there & there in spirit - we're so thankful to all of our friends & family for all of the love & support for Matt & I & baby Jack!

And now... the reveal!

Our outfits really did have pink & blue in them... but, we are so happy & just pray for a healthy baby!

Thank you so much to all of our family & friends that were with us to celebrate our baby BOY and for all the love we have received via FaceBook & Instagram!!!  We are overjoyed & cannot wait for these next several months to fly by so we can meet our little bundle of joy!

Baby Yancey - 17 Week Bumpdate

Hey y'all!  I hope everyone had a wonderful Labor Day Weekend full of everything you wanted to do to round out the Summer!  We did exactly what we wanted... err needed to do.... you guessed it!  House remodel work!  We're nearing the end of this renovation & are pushing hard to get things finished before the party this weekend.  For those that read this & are coming over this weekend, could you do me a favor & give Matt & big 'ol pat on the back?  Please?  He's worked really, really hard & He deserves it!  So, moving along...  I cannot believe that I'm at the end of 17 weeks, creeping up on 18 weeks & about to find out if Baby Yancey is a boy or a girl!!  So exciting!!!

How far along:  17 weeks

Baby Size:  The size of an onion... weighing in around 5.9 oz & about 5.1 inches long!

Weight Gain:
Still not sure... will know Friday!

Maternity Clothes:  Other than my jeans a couple weeks ago, nothing.  My clothes are still fitting for the most part or I wear elastic waist things.  Hence the pants above - my go-to's, wear almost every week, so soft & comfy, love them so much!

Stretch Marks/Swelling:  So far so good!

Sleep:  Descent - a lot of tossing & turning.  My shoulders/arms get tired of being laid on.  lol!

Exercise:  Does house work & renovation count?  I feel like I'm working muscles I haven't in a long while... feels good but, it hurts too!

Food Cravings or Aversions:  No cravings but, walking through the fish & meat market section of the grocery store the other day I thought I was going to lose my lunch!  The fish smell is always pretty strong in there my oh.  my.  goodness it was bad that day!

Gender:  3.  More.  Days!!!

Movement:  Still feeling the rumbling feeling every now & then.  AND it's happened when I'm not hungry so, I feel like it's the babe & not so much my stomach.  Matt is anxious to feel the little babe moving & I can't wait to be able to share that with him!

Symptoms:  Wowza, the headaches.  I mentioned last Friday that I stayed home from work one day with a horrible head ache.  Luckily none like that have happened again but, as mentioned I have a feeling these are around for the long haul.

Labor Signs:  No

Belly button in or out:  In

Wedding rings on or off:  On

Mood:  Good, a bit tired... anxious & excited to find out if we're team pink or team blue!

Nursery:  No progress yet... I have a feeling this will be in full swing after this coming weekend though!!

What I miss:  Not having back pain.  I feel like a big 'ol whiny baby but, I had been doing really good, no back pain & then bam!  Mid-day Friday I moved a certain way & my back/sciatic nerve was hurting all over again!  I was in tears come Saturday evening because it hurt so bad & I stupidly overdid it working around the house (but stuff had to get done!).  I took it easy the rest of the evening & Sunday felt better.  At this point I think it's all about listening to my body & continuing to stretch.  Realistically I can't be getting prenatal massages every week... darn the luck!

Best moment this week:  My best friend & I talking about the gender reveal.  She is decorating the balloon box for us & is so excited & happy about it!  I love her for that & so appreciate all her effort & hard work going into making it so special for Matt & I!

What I'm looking forward to:  Seeing our little baby on the monitor on Friday & just checking in on him/her!  Also, some of both mine & Matt's families are coming to town for the party & it will be so nice to see everyone, including several very special friends!
