Baby Yancey - 16 Week Bumpdate

Better late than never right!?  Headaches have revisited me this week & haven't been too kind.  Feeling much better though & ready for a long, productive weekend!

Top: Old Navy - Similar  Skirt: Target - Similar

How far along: 16 weeks!

Baby Size: The little babe is the size of an Avacado!

Weight Gain:
Not sure, I would say a couple lbs maybe?  I'll find out for sure next week.

Maternity Clothes: I officially wore my first maternity item last Friday, jeans!  They are the pair I ordered a little while back at Motherhood Maternity (these & they're on sale!).  Overall, I liked the fit but, will have to get them hymned since I'm a bit of a shorty & since I'm not quite ready for the full panel yet I just simply folded it down & they worked perfectly!
*Note: I'm wearing regular jeans today & rocking the rubber band trick! Ha!

Stretch Marks/Swelling:  So far so good!

Sleep:  Can't really complain... except when Bingham hogs the bed. ;)

Exercise:  I started stretching after my pre-natal massage & it has really made a difference.  I feel so much better!

Food Cravings or Aversions:  Nothing really this week.

Gender:  8 days people... 8 days!!!

Movement:  I don't know if it's possible to feel the baby this early on but, if it is I would swear to you I felt the little babe twice this week!  Once while I was in my car, around lunch time.  It was this sort of grumble thing right around my belly button.  It caught me off guard & since I was hungry at the time I chalked it up to my stomach growling.  Then, Wednesday morning (I stayed home from work due to a killer headache, more below), the pup had woken me up, I was laying in bed & felt the same grumble feeling twice!  Caught me off guard again & I just laid in bed praying it would happen again but, no luck.  Could have been that I was hungry then too but, it could have been the little babe... Guess I'll know for sure in another few weeks or so!

Symptoms:  I really thought the headaches had subsided however, I'm afraid these are one thing that will hang around throughout this pregnancy.  I had a terrible one that started out light Tuesday afternoon & continually got worse throughout the evening.  I ended up staying home on Wednesday when I woke up & I still had this headache.  I caved to the Tylenol & used ice packs.  The dark guest room helped a lot too & thankful to be on the mend from that!  & Yes, I'm getting peppermint oil stat!

Labor Signs:  No

Belly button in or out:  In

Wedding rings on or off:  On

Mood:  Overall good - wanting to feel 100% to tick things off of our to-do list though!

Nursery:  Still has boxes & a lot of things that belong in other places being stored there for now.

What I miss:  Being able to take major meds for headaches.  Sorry to whine, I've just never experienced headaches like these.

Best moment this week:  Thursday - Matt is officially back to a day schedule!!

What I'm looking forward to:  A long weekend filled with productivity & time with my main man!  Might even get to take the pup to the dog park too - hopefully!

A Fresh Face!

No, this isn't a post about a great face wash or cleanse... A new face & look for The Fancy Yancey!  I am so excited about this new, fresh, simple & inviting layout!  All put together by the super talented Shannon @ Shannon Page Design!  I have worked with Shannon before... back when this blog had another long little name!  She was a pleasure to work with, taking all of my different ideas & bringing them all to life as well as suggesting edits & so forth that would enhance my blog & layout.  Contact Shannon if you're in the market for a new blog look!

So, let me show you around my new space!

For starters, the blog header & pages.

I've updated my "About" section along with my "Contact" page.  The "House Tour" page is new & will be updated as I give y'all a virtual tour of our house, room by room.  The "DIY" & "Recipes" pages are the same but, they are both a quick reference for all of the DIY projects & recipes that I've shared here over the years.  Some are quite old so, don't laugh too hard when you see some of the pictures!  {Updates will be made to old post in the coming months!}

As mentioned the other day, I started a FaceBook page for my blog!  It's been fun & a good way to share the blog on a new platform!  Click along for other social media accounts like Twitter, Pinterest, Instagram, Bloglovin & e-mail!  Speaking of Pinterest, hover over a picture & you will find a "Pin This" button on each picture!

You may have also noticed 3 new categories or life stages/events if you will.  "House 2 Home" follows along with all of our house renovations from start to finish.  The "Mr. & Mrs." section shares all of our wedding recaps - love those memories & don't ever want them to get "lost" in the depths of the blog.  And of course, the most recent life event - Baby Yancey!  You can find all things related to baby & pregnancy under, well... "Pregnancy".

And last but, not least... Looking for a specific post or posts pertaining to one topic?  Take a look through the blog archive & labels.  {If you can't find something, feel free to ask me!}

I must say, thank you to everyone for all of your continued support of myself & this blog over the years!  It really is so fun getting to "meet" new people & make new friendships!  The blogging world is such an amazing place & I'm thankful to be a part of it.

Baby Yancey - 15 Week Bumpdate

A day late, almost a picture short.  Between needing to look descent (because no one wants to see a repeat of last week!) & two schedules that pass each other for a quick hour, it's hard to get this thing completed.  However, I want to keep up with it if for no other reason but, a keepsake.  So, will y'all bear with me once a week for oh... about another 24 weeks??  You're the best!

So, here we go!

How far along:  15 Weeks!  I seriously had to keep checking back to last weeks bumpdate to make sure this was right... Pregnancy brain!?

Baby Size:  Little babe is the size of an apple or navel orange - grow baby grow!

Weight Gain:
Not sure but, I would say there's some weight gain!

Maternity Clothes:  Not yet but, is it weird that I'm ready to start wearing them!?  I tried on a pair of maternity leggings the other day & let's just say I'm not ready for them yet.  :(  Hopefully they'll fit soon!

Stretch Marks/Swelling:  Nope!

Sleep:  Pretty good

Food Cravings or Aversions:  Nothing really, which feels/seems sort of weird.

Gender: 2 more weeks!!

Movement:  The other night I was trying to convince myself I was feeling some little flutters but, I think I was just feeling my heart beat.  Womp womp...  Hopefully soon though!

Symptoms:  My baaack!  Mainly my sciatic nerve but, oh ma gosh!  I did have a prenatal massage yesterday & it was amazing!  I'm ready for my next one!

Labor Signs:  Nope!

Belly button in or out:  In

Wedding rings on or off:  On

Mood:  Super relaxed after my prenatal massage!

Nursery:  Made some progress this last weekend & will make even more progress once the hallway is done & things can find their home again!

What I miss:  Nothing really comes to mind this week... Just ready to get my back feeling 100% again.

Best moment this week:  Sending out Gender Reveal invites!!  & Chatting with my girlfriends about what we're all wearing for the party.  Soon you won't hear anymore about the gender reveal party... 2 more weeks!!  :)

What I'm looking forward to:  A productive weekend with Matt on the home front & brunch with my girls Saturday morning!

It's Friday! It's Friday!

Show of hands of who else is excited to see that it's Friday!?  I'm so glad it's the weekend... However, I know come Monday we'll all be complaining that the weekend just isn't long enough.  First world problems, right!?

Also, I'm ready for Five on Friday to come back from Summer vaca!  So, I'm going to start getting back into the swing of things around here!

One - I am so ready for Fall to be here!  Bath & Body Works has brought out their Fall candles, soaps & lotions & I can't wait to get my hands on a bundle of Pumpkin Pecan Waffle candles!

Two - I forgot to mention in my 14 week Bumpdate that last Friday at our Dr. appointment, Matt & I heard the baby's heartbeat for the first time!  We had seen it on the monitor 3 times before but, had yet to hear it.  It was truly amazing!!

Three - Remember my pretty front porch flowers I potted in the Spring?  Well, they have bitten the dust... & bad!  Poor things.  I don't have a green thumb though & have been struggling trying to figure out what I want to replace them with.  I've been searching, where else, Pinterest & came up with some ideas.  So, on the to-do list for this weekend is updating the front porch flowers!  If anyone has any suggestions for Fall like flowers that are good in little-to-no-sun, feel free to comment below!

Four - Speaking of to-do list... We are hosting our gender reveal party in just 3 weeks (!!!) & have quite the little list of things to get done!  Hoping to knock out quite a few things this weekend!  Don't worry... The only major project is finishing the hallway - luckily Matt has that under control!  The rest of the projects are fairly small - finish this, tidy up that, etc.

Five - Soo, I started a FaceBook page for the 'ol blog this week!  For so long I've avoided it but, I think it will be good overall... Just one more way for y'all to follow along if you wish (I hope you do!) & stay in touch.  You can find my FaceBook page here.

Hope y'all have a great weekend - relaxing or productive!

Baby Yancey - 14 Week Bumpdate!

Rocking the little-to-no make-up!

How far along:  14 weeks!  Baby Yancey can now make facial expressions - I can only imagine the expressions that are being made!

Baby Size:  The little babe is the size of a lemon!

Weight Gain:
Still up 3lbs from pre-pregnancy weight.  My nurse assured me they would start to come on more in the 2nd tri-mester.  All for a good cause I suppose ;)

Maternity Clothes:  Not yet but, certainly wearing elastic waist shorts & pants.  Also, maxi skirts have been a staple for work.

Stretch Marks/Swelling:  Nothing this week

Sleep:  Good this week, thankfully!

Exercise:  This may be coming off the list of questions until I actually do start working out.  LOL!

Food Cravings or Aversions:  Ravioli's still!

Gender:  3 1/2 weeks until we found out!

Movement:  Nothing yet

Symptoms:  Mainly just nose bleeds still.  Crazy enough when I was at the nail salon last Friday, a warm neck pillow came with my manicure.  I didn't have the pillow around my neck for 5 minutes & I could feel a nose bleed coming on.  Thankfully I was able to run to the restroom quick enough to catch it but, how crazy!?  & a little embarrassing!  Thankful for close girlfriends who are understanding & a nice nail tech!

Labor Signs:  Noo...

Belly button in or out:  In

Wedding rings on or off:  On

Mood:  Anxious to find out what we're having!

Nursery:  No new progress this week but, it's certainly on the to-do list!

What I miss:  Being able to have an adult beverage with friends... the only downside of the wedding this weekend.  But, the girls made me feel included with my faux-mosa = sparkling cider & orange juice! :)

Best moment this week:  My best friends wedding & still fitting into my bridesmaids dress!  My other best friend & I ended up swapping dresses when we went to pick ours up because she knew she was pregnant & my dress was going to need a lot of alterations for me + it fit her preggers belly much better!  So, I took hers & it fit like a glove... the following Wednesday is when we found out we were pregnant!!  Thankful I'm not further along or the dress wouldn't have fit!! HA!

What I'm looking forward to:  It's a few weeks away still but, Matt's new work schedule!  It will be so nice being back on the same schedule finally!

This weekend one of my very best friends got married!  Festivities started Thursday evening with the rehearsal & rehearsal dinner at a wonderful restaurant downtown, Reata.  Friday started with a girls lunch at the most delicious Italian restaurant, Mama Mia's.  My mouth is watering just thinking about it.  Then it was off to the salon for manis & pedis.

Saturday morning came & the real festivities started!  Our bride was all kinds of giddy, hopped up on Starbucks!  ;)  It was a fun day of hanging out & getting primped & pretty.  Before we knew it, it was time for the ceremony to begin & get our girl hitched.  It was a super sweet, funny & beautiful ceremony.  I started crying the moment I saw her shoes coming down the stairs! HA!  She was an absolutely beautiful bride though & I'm pretty sure from all the dancing that took place, she & her new husband had the time of their lives!

Bridal party with our bride-to-be at the rehearsal dinner!

Friday night at Chimy's!

Wedding Day!

Selfie with Mrs. Barberena!

Best friends & we're preggers together!!  So much fun!  Our babes will be 3 months apart!

Clearly, the bride & groom were the only ones having fun... ;)  It was an awesome weekend with my favorite girls, celebrating Mr. & Mrs. Barberena!  Everything turned out perfectly & was absolutely beautiful!!  Hope you guys have the best time on your honeymoon!  I wish y'all a life time of happiness together!!

We made it!  Whoop!  Whoop!

Baby Yancey - 13 Week Bumpdate

How far along:  13 Weeks!  & I'll be 14 weeks tomorrow - time is seriously flying by!

Baby Size:  The little babe is the size of a peach!  Finger prints have formed & the body is now starting to catch up with it's over-sized head!

Weight Gain:
I'll know on Friday for sure!

Maternity Clothes:  Not yet!

Stretch Marks/Swelling:  None this week!

Sleep:  Sleeping like a champ as long as I'm in the guest bed.  For some reason our bed has become so uncomfortable to sleep in & I wake up with my back hurting.

Exercise:  I know what I said last week... & it didn't happen.

Food Cravings or Aversions:  Oddly enough Ravioli's sounded so good the other night!  Haven't had those in years!  Also, Matt heated up some sausage the other night that he had grilled a couple days before & I thought I was going to lose it!  It smelled horrible!!  & then later he heated up a left over burger that we had grilled & He couldn't eat either of them fast enough for me!  UGH!  Just thinking of it makes my nostrils flare!

Gender:  4 1/2 more weeks & we'll know!!

Movement: Nothing yet but, I can't wait until I feel that first flutter!

Symptoms:  Sensitive nose, a nose bleed, and some stomach cramps - guess the baby hit growth spurt!

Labor Signs:  N-O!

Belly button in or out:  In

Wedding rings on or off:  On!

Mood:  I feel pretty good - excited about a lot of upcoming things!

Nursery:  Made some progress this last weekend cleaning it out & organizing!  There were several boxes only half full - wtf!?  We bought plastic storage containers so I can organize everything & label them accordingly.  Then they'll find their way to their new home in the attic!

What I miss:  Sleeping in my own bed/room, especially when Matt is home.

Best moment this week:  Having Matt home unexpectedly for 2 nights!  He's currently on a night job so, our one hour of seeing each other in the afternoons can get old after a while - & really makes you cherish what time you do have together!  So, those 2 nights were a special treat!

What I'm looking forward to:  1. My best friends wedding is this weekend & I couldn't be more excited for her!  I can't wait to stand by her side & celebrate the new Mr. & Mrs. Barberena!
2. We have our next Dr.'s appt on Friday & I can't wait!  We haven't been in a month so, I'm anxious to see how the little babe is doing!
3.  We printed our Gender Reveal party invites last night & it makes me all kinds of giddy!  4 1/2 more weeks... 4 1/2 more weeks!!!

August Goals

Whoa!  Time & life really is flying by these days & I know it will only go faster once Baby Yancey arrives!  There's been a lot going on lately - a lot of little parts moving, changing, etc.  Mostly the "behind the scenes" type stuff that you can't really see but, they make an impact - you know what I mean?  I'm excited that August is upon us because this week officially starts the wedding festivities for one of my very best friends!  Such an exciting time!!  One more reason to be excited about August... We're on the brink of Fall people!!  I don't know if it's the pregnant lady in me that can't drink & feels terrible in a swimmy or what but, I seriously can't wait for Fall to get here!  The candles, pumpkin flavored things (not spiced lattes!), cooler weather, football... oh it's going to be a great Fall!!  Let's check out how I did in July...
