Baby Yancey - 39 Week Bumpdate!

Top - Old Navy, Pants - Red Horse Boutique

How far along: 39 Weeks

Baby Size: Baby boy is as big as a Watermelon... & He feels like it!  ;)

Weight Gain: As of last Friday I was up a total of 42 lbs - blah!

Maternity Clothes:  Is there anything else!?  Except for the pants in the above picture & they're SO comfortable!

Stretch Marks/Swelling:  Nothing new in this department... Stretch marks on the boobs, booty & hips & swelling in my feet.

Sleep: Here lately it hasn't been great.  However, Monday night I got a good night's sleep but, it could of been because Sunday night was horrible!!

Food Cravings or Aversions: Nothing new here... still loving all things sweet!

Gender:  Boy!  Jack Montgomery!

Movement:  Yes, little booger is still moving quite a bit so, I'm thankful for that!

Symptoms:  Of pregnancy!?  A growing belly, swollen feet, carpal tunnel in my hands... & I feel like a house at this point.  #overitall

Labor Signs: This sent me into my boo-hoo session at the doctor's office last Friday.  As of Friday I wasn't dilated at all & so far I haven't had any signs of early labor.  Hoping for a little different news this Friday but, without trying to sound negative, I just don't feel like that's going to be the case.  Plus, I don't want to get my hopes up either.

Belly button in or out: Neither, just flat

Wedding rings on or off:  Off

Mood: Ready... excited, nervous & ready!

Nursery:  Done!!  If you missed it, here's the recap from yesterday!

What I miss: My feet not swelling

Best moment this week: Knowing that we are completely done with Jack's nursery & truly are completely ready for him to come home!

What I'm looking forward to: Having our baby boy & becoming a family of 3... err 4!  :)

Other Notables:

+ Yesterday was my last full day of work before maternity leave starts - such a weird feeling!  Since I've yet to have any labor signs I'll be working some half days so I'm not burning all my time at home, sans baby.

+ Our bags our completely packed & ready to go... So, Jack you can make your debut any time now!  :)

Jack's Nursery Reveal!

Aahhh!  Jack's nursery... it's done!  It's done!!  Jack's nursery has been such a true labor of love for Matt & I both.  I think it's safe to say that I wanted it to be just right that I probably put a little extra pressure on myself than what was necessary.  But, I guess what they say is true... You want to give your kids everything & make things perfect for them... Ahh it's started!!  There's no particular "theme" per-say for Jack's nursery but, I knew I wanted to incorporate all kinds of different vintage items.  Some are things we bought at trades days or antique stores and other things are items we already had that belonged to us or our family members at one time or another - which makes his room that much more special for us.  For colors we went with grey & white chevron with navy blue as well as pops of red & yellow.  It's really hard to decide just what pictures to share after we've worked so hard on his room so, beware of the picture overload... All item details with links will be at the end of the post!  {I know I missed things so, feel free to ask about something if it isn't listed!}

This is really a flat navy blue but, it keeps coming out as more of a royal blue once uploaded

With Jack's closet being behind his bedroom door, we opted to not replace the old doors & instead hang curtains.  I really like how they look & how much space I have when they are opened - I can see his whole closet!

Crib skirt, Sheet & Changing pad cover - Target

Weekend Rundown!

Hi friends!  Happy Monday!!

I had a chipper Friday post started up on Friday & then got not-so-great news at the Dr later that morning & it totally changed my mood - I was not chipper any more.  {FYI, everything is fine, just no darn progression in the dilation department}  I was really bummed, let myself cry about it and later decided that I could either stay in that bad mood or make the best of the fact that Matt & I had at least one more weekend as just the two of us & we were going to make the best of it & have fun!  So, that's exactly what we did!

Friday we decided to go see American Sniper at Coyote Drive-In that night.  It was the perfect date night!  We were able to take Bingham along, got there early to get a good parking spot & grab some dinner.  American Sniper was a great movie, enough said!  The Wedding Ringer happened to be the second feature so, we decided to be wild & stayed to see it - got home after midnight & all!  It was a funny movie but, we definitely could have lived without one part of the movie.  Overall, they were both good in their own respect & so glad we got to see both of them!  We love going to the drive-in & can't wait to go with Jack this Spring/Summer!
Overlooking Downtown Ft. Worth

Saturday started out a little lazy but, we treated ourselves to brunch at Gloria's & then ran some errands.  It was such a gorgeous day weather wise so, it was really nice to be out & about!  Gloria's has the best bean dip & salsa... & our potentially last date day had to be documented!

I opted for the Mexican Omelette & it was ooh so good!  Plus $1 mimosas with the purchase of a brunch item... Holla!  I didn't partake but, I will definitely be back after Jack is born!  ;)

Sunday we spent the day literally being big, lazy bums... and it was amazing!!

Be sure to stop by tomorrow as I will be sharing Jack's nursery!!  I am SO excited to finally share it with y'all!!

Baby Yancey - 38 Week Bumpdate!

I'm so behind on posting this bumpdate... Actually 39 weeks exactly here!

How far along: 38 Weeks

Baby Size: A pumpkin - 18.9 - 20.9 in. long & 6.2 - 9.2 lbs

Maternity Clothes: Oh yes... & Can they make maternity shoes!?

Stretch Marks/Swelling:  No new stretch marks but, still swelling in my feet

Sleep: I'm back to not sleeping great but, I feel like that's a given at this point in any pregnancy.

Food Cravings or Aversions:  Nothing...

Gender: Boy!

Movement:  Oh yes, still moving quite a bit!  When he stretches out I can feel him at the very bottom of my stomach & at the very top!  That's when I wish I had a longer torso - ha!

Symptoms: Mainly just swelling in my feet & carpal tunnel in my hands - primarily in my right hand

Labor Signs: I did have a few good contractions on Monday during the day but, they were several hours apart & nothing else has happened since.

Belly button in or out: Flat

Wedding rings on or off: Off

Mood:  Hopeful... & ready.  So ready!

Nursery:  It's done... pictures coming next week!!

What I miss:  My feet not swelling & just being able to do as much as my back will allow.  With my feet swelling it's really slowed me down because if they start getting too big it hurts to walk.  #overit

Best moment this week: Last week was my last full week of work before I start maternity leave - that was surreal!

What I'm looking forward to:  If this actually written before Friday mornings appointment it would have been looking forward to that appointment buuut, it didn't go as I had hoped so, looking forward to this next Friday - I'll be 40 weeks & hoping for some progress!

Monday, January 19, 2015

Well, this is different... I'm here... On a Monday... Blogging!!

Anyways... we had a fun & semi low-key weekend.  Not that we can be getting too crazy these days but, ya know...  Friday night Matt, my dad, his girlfriend & I all went to the Ft Worth Stock Show Ranch Rodeo.  If you've never been to a ranch rodeo, you need to see at least one in your life - they're different than a regular rodeo & a lot of fun!

Saturday my girlfriends came over for breakfast - Erin was a doll & picked up Fuzzy's Taco's for everyone - ohmagosh good!  Then Matt & I were off to return/exchange baby items at Target.  It was such a gorgeous day Saturday I so badly wanted to go sit on a patio (with a cold drink!) after our Target trip but, my poor feet were swelling too bad that I had to get home & prop them up.  Boo!  But, that was made up for when I went to get a pedicure on Sunday... Oh my gosh I haven't had one in forever & have actually heard they can cause you to go into labor so, I've avoided them this whole pregnancy.  And THEN I see two other pregnant ladies in the salon while I was there Sunday!?!?  My best friend went with me & it was a really nice, relaxing afternoon!!  I won't be waiting so long for my next one!

Sunday evening we decided to try a new recipe that we had seen on TV made with Pillsbury crescent rolls - Crescent Pizza Pockets.  You can't ever go wrong with crescent rolls so we knew it would be good!  Similar to my homemade Stromboli or a homemade pizza but, it was a nice little change up & super easy!  {Recipe here}

Not as pretty as the original recipe but, they were good!!

Baby Yancey - 37 Week Bumpdate

Wow... I cannot believe that I am at 37 weeks (officially 38 weeks as of today!)  I wanted to wait until after my appointment on Wednesday to post this bumpdate but, got pretty bummed out when I was told that there was no progression at all.  I know He needs to stay put a little longer & I am just now 38 weeks but, I was sure hoping for just a little progression.  Guess this gives me a little more time to finish up all of my last minute things (& baby boy to develop more!).... the silver lining!

Shirt - Ross

How far along:  37 Weeks!!!

Baby Size:  Big... and losing room!  On Wednesday's appointment the Dr estimated that he's already between 6 1/2 - 7lbs.  Lord help me!

Weight Gain:  The last several updates I've been unsure but, I reluctantly confirmed at my appointment on Wednesday that I've gained a total of 40 lbs so far.  UGH!  Talk about gut wrenching to see that number but, I know I'm almost done with this pregnancy and it's all for a good cause!

Maternity Clothes:  Of course!

Stretch Marks/Swelling:  No new stretch marks but, still battling the swelling in my feet & hands.  I even stayed home last Thursday & Friday to keep my feet propped up... drinking a lot of water & staying away from the sodium!

Sleep:  Eh... Some nights I sleep great & other nights are not so great.  Sometimes I wake up with little man in my ribs & pushing on my right side really hard.  Fun stuff!

Food Cravings or Aversions:  Breakfast has been a go-to meal for me lately, I just can't get enough!  And funny enough there's been some things lately that I walk into a room, smell food & want to hurl!  So strange!

Gender:  Boy!  Jack Montgomery!

Movement:  Yes, baby boy still moves quite a bit!

Symptoms:  Still have the back aches, those just aren't going away especially now!  HAHA!  Feet & hands swelling & carpal tunnel in my right hand - not fun!

Labor Signs:  Definitely having Braxton Hicks but, nothing consistent yet.  And as of Wednesday's doctor appointment I still have not made any progress dilating.  Womp. Womp...

Belly button in or out:  Flat

Wedding rings on or off:  Off... I can't wait to be able to wear them again!

Mood:  Wednesday I was pretty bummed about not progressing any but, overall I feel happy.  Certainly anxious... probably the most anxious I've ever felt in my life!

Nursery:  It is done!  I can't wait to share with y'all next week!

What I miss:  Mainly just my feet not swelling & my hands hurting - I would be great if not for those two!

Best moment this week:  Hearing Jack's heart beat - it never gets old!  Finishing the nursery & getting all of our "preparations" in order.

What I'm looking forward to:  I know He should stay put a little bit longer (& probably will) but, I'm just really looking forward to meeting our little guy.  I absolutely cannot wait!!!

Other Notables:
+ Pregnancy insomnia is no joke... Updating this at 3:15am & I've been awake since 2:30. #tgif

+ Long gone are the days of me being cold natured (& they have been for a while) but, when it's 35* out & you think it feels good... You know your baking a baby!  I've even been freezing Matt out a bit, ha!

Baby Yancey - 36 Week Bumpdate!

Shirt - Old Navy {& a sneak of Jack's nursery!}

How far along:  36 Weeks!!!  Holy moly... as of Friday I'll officially be "full term"!

Baby Size:  Baby boy is the size of a Honeydew  17.2 - 18.7" & 4.2 - 5.8lbs.

Weight Gain:  I don't remember but, I think I'm at about 30-ish lbs or so

Maternity Clothes:  Is there anything else at this point!?

Stretch Marks/Swelling:  While out on vacation last week my swelling wasn't bad but, I've been struggling the last couple of days being back at work keeping the swelling down in my feet.

Sleep:  Y'all!!  I have been sleeping in my own bed for the last week!!!  Matt bought me a wedge to prop up on & it's been working out great adding just a few more pillows!

Food Cravings or Aversions:  Umm... I think it's safe to say I took a little advantage of the fact that I'm pregnant & did a little over-indulging over the holiday!  Whoops!

Gender:  Boy! Boy! Boy!

Movement:  He's definitely slowed down a little but, still moving!

Symptoms:  Along with my feet swelling my hands have been swelling & going numb on me... Needless to say it makes doing some things interesting!

Labor Signs:  Definitely had some contractions but, nothing steady yet - thankfully!

Belly button in or out:  Flat

Wedding rings on or off:  Off

Mood:  Excited, ready & nervous

Nursery:  Almost complete!

What I miss:  Just feeling good overall but, I know that it all comes with this time during pregnancy though & will all be worth it once we hold our little man in our arms!

Best moment this week:  My baby shower this last weekend!  Was SO much fun!!

What I'm looking forward to:  Organizing Jack's nursery this weekend & gathering all of the last minute stuff we need.  I'm also going to start packing our bags as soon as we have his room organized this weekend - eeek!!

Other notables:
+ I started my weekly Dr visits last Friday!! No progress or anything but, can't believe we're already to this point!

Baby Yancey - 35 Week Bumpdate!

NYE 2015!  {I forgot to take a bumpdate picture therefore, I never posted this but, none-the-less here's 35 weeks of all bump!}

How far along: 35 Weeks!

Baby Size:  Baby boy is as big as a Coconut!  Weighing anywhere from 4.2 - 5.8 lbs & is 17.2 - 18.7 in. long from head to his tiny toes!

Weight Gain:  Don't know... Don't really want to know but, will find out for sure Friday!

Maternity Clothes: Oh yes!

Stretch Marks/Swelling:  I think I discovered some new stretch marks on my hips but, nothing too major.  My feet swelling has become a constant battle.  I'm drinking a lot of water, keeping them propped up when I can & walking as much as possible as well to try & keep the swelling to a minimum.

Sleep:  Ha!  Considering I'm typing this at 6am on my day off... :)  Yeah, we'll just say it's getting interesting lately & I'm not getting very much sleep.  I'm hoping to talk to my Dr about it on Friday though to see if we can come up with a resolution... aka something to knock me out!

Food Cravings or Aversions:  Nothing really... Matt was eating some sausage the other night that didn't smell too great to me but, other than that there's been nothing.

Gender:  Boy!!

Movement:  His movements are definitely slowing down.  Less kicks & jabs & more whole body movements across my stomach.

Symptoms:  Feet swelling & sore joints in my hands.  My back is still hurting but, I know that won't subside until after Jack is here so, dealing with it.

Labor Signs:  I don't think so.  I do think I've had some more Braxton Hicks though... which makes me confused if those are the "fake" thing then how do I know when it's the "real" thing??

Belly button in or out: Neither, just flat!

Wedding rings on or off:  Off & off... can't wait to wear my rings again though!

Mood:  Considering my lack of sleep I'm turning into a bit of a grump.  I'm trying to watch myself though & make sure I don't snap too much.  It's hard & of course I realize I've done it immediately & feel terrible!  Poor Matt!  He's really been so awesome throughout all of this!!

Nursery:  We made some major progress this last weekend - Furniture is situated just so, gallery wall is up, some other miscellaneous things are hung & will be adding more stuff over the next couple of days along with all the goodies we bring home from the shower this weekend!

What I miss:  Honestly, my body just feeling good.  No aching, no taking breaks after doing something for 10 minutes... I'm just ready to feel good again.

Best moment this week:  By far Christmas with our family & making such good progress in the nursery!!

What I'm looking forward to:  My baby shower & Matt's diaper party this weekend!  Our families are coming into town also & just being surrounded by our family and friends is always the best!!

A Weekend of Baby Showers!

This last weekend we had two more showers for Baby Jack!  My girlfriends & family threw me a shower & my Dad & a friend helped organize a diaper party/skeet shoot for the guys!  Between everyone that was at each party & all the great food that we had I would say everyone had a good time!  And we were blessed with so many wonderful gifts & tons of diapers for our sweet Jack!  So thankful for everyone who could make it to each shower!

The adorable book one of my girlfriend/hostess' made for Jack... Everyone wrote down a wish or blessing for Jack!  So incredibly sweet!!

Guess the cost of all the items combined!

Here's some pictures from the skeet shoot/diaper party... all the guys had a really good time!  But, how could they not when BBQ & guns are involved!?

Thanks again to everyone that could make it to each shower & that has showed us & Jack so much love!  We truly are blessed with some great family & friends that are like family!

Goals: January & 2015

I'll be honest and admit that I certainly slacked towards the end of the year with my goal making & keeping.  So, with the new year I'm getting back on track!  I'm sure having a baby in the next 4 weeks or so may throw things off a little bit but, that's ok... I'm up for the challenge to stay on track as much as possible!  (Feel free to remind me of this in 2 months - ha!)

So, here's some things I would like to tackle throughout the year in 2015...

+ Organize different rooms & spaces at least once a month throughout the house.  The kitchen & master bath will be tackled soon but, I'm hoping to get some sort of "calendar" up soon to keep me on track.  I know Pinterest has tons of resources for things like this!

+ Have all debts paid off!  We are down to just a couple & I would love to have them paid off, done & done by the end of the year.  There's really no reason this can't be done if we'll just get serious about it!  #toughlove

+ Complete our house remodel!  We have the bathrooms & kitchen floor left to do so, we are extremely close - I'm confident we can get it done!

+ For Matt & I both to get back on track with our overall health & wellness!  Sadly, we've really slacked the last several months - I've craved those good, comfort, Southern meals & we're both feeling it.  It will be nice to get out as a family in the Spring to go on walks & so forth.  Don't worry, I'll be starting well before Spring comes around! ;)  #fitfamily2015

And for the more immediate items, here's my goals for January 2015!

+ Rearrange/organize the kitchen cabinets.  As it is now, I couldn't fit a bottle in there if I wanted to so, room must be made!

+ Rearrange/organize the master bath cabinets.  Since our bathroom has the only tub it's likely that most of Jack's baths will be taken in our bathtub.  So, I need to make room for all of his bath items - soaps, shampoos, toys, etc.

+ Have our hospital bags packed by mid-month

+ Have Jack's room organized by mid-month... Completely decorated, clothes washed & put away, etc., etc.

+ With that... Share his nursery here on the blog before his arrival!  HA!  I could just see this happening in March if I don't make it a point to share this month!

What are your goals for January & 2015?
